Hey all, I'm pretty new to the Richmond area and looking for ponds and lakes to put in my kayak to do some fishing. I've already been whitewater rafting and know the river can be pretty gnarly so while I'm not completely opposed to it, just lookin for some calm water.

Likewise, if anyone needs a fishing buddy, let me know. Teamwork makes the dream work.

It has been many years, but on the James, around the Pony Pasture there is pretty flat water, and another park near the Huguenot Bridge that is definitely flat water. Don't know what the fishing is like though. There is a park near James River High School that had water access for the crew team they had there way back when I was in school there. Good luck
