Hello all,
My grandfather past away last fall and when I was cleaning out his garage I came across an old bolt action .22lr single shot. I cleaned it up a bit and reblued the barrel so I can pass it down to my son someday. I took it out to test fire it and it will not fire or extract. When I examined further I found the extractor had broke off clean.

So now I need to try to run down 1) what gun it is and 2) where to find a bolt assemble/someone to make a new extractor.

Thanks for any help!

Please take a picture of the broken extractor and the bolt out of the gun.

Old Anschutz I believe. But also looks similar to the old Stevens.

Does look like an Anschults but those had an extractor on each side. May be an early Cooey. If it is a Stevens it is earlier than a "3" (extractor is different). Could be an early Mossberg and Sons Model A or B. I think is is a doable project to build one that works but it would have to be done on your own. The cost of a gunsmiths time is going to be way more than the value of the gun. Are there any marks on the bottom of the barrel up by the reliever?

One of my friends suggested it may be an early FN model 1912 as they also had solid backs like yours.
