Here's a reminder of what's coming our way if the gun-controllers take over the General Assembly:
No reciprocity - do you like carrying in other states? The states that honor your Virginia CHP could drop dramatically if Virginia stops honoring permits from other states

Red Flag Laws - a false accusation that your are "dangerous" and you lose your guns

Universal Background Checks - the precursor to gun registration and then confiscation
Ban on AR-15s, AK-47s, and other semi-automatic firearms - turn them in or destroy them with no compensation
Ban on magazines that hold more than 10 rounds - turn them in or destroy them with no compensation

No more preemption - localities will be able to create their own highly restrictive and confusing gun control
No carry in local government buildings including libraries
No carry in parks or during parades or rallies
No open carry
One handgun a month rationing
A felony charge if anyone under 18 gets access to one of your loaded firearms, including a burglar
No more online CHP training - someone who is under threat will no longer be able to get their CHP quickly
Loss of gun rights for certain misdemeanors
Gun owners can stop the attacks, but we must all VOTE !!

Dear fellow Virginians,

Due to the expected record turnouts for the 2019 election we have decided to amend and extend voting days/hours to meet everyone's busy schedule.
Republicans will be able to vote from 6am-7pm on November 5th, 2019.
Democrats will be able to vote from 6am-7pm on November the 6th, 2019. That is if you can find time to quit killing babies, confiscating guns, providing illegal immigrants with everything FOR FREE, freeing felons and restoring their voting rights, driving electric cars(where do you think electricity comes from a$$h0\€).
Last but not least TREASON.
"Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.“

Voted.... nervous about how this election is going to go. When I went to vote this morning I was the "ONLY" person in the entire building besides the polling officials. THAT SUCKS!!!

Happy my district got it right at the polls. Not good elsewhere in the state. They now have the house and senate. This is not good!

May I suggest we all become ghosts on social media when the red flag laws hit?
False accounts may be our only hope to converse without getting swatted by some butthurt gun hater who didnt like one of our comments.
I hate feeling like a criminal in my own state.

Not sure what to do now. The first words out of the lefts' mouths this morning was gun control. May start off slow or could turn into a free for all. Either way, I bet there will be limited grandfathering for current owners so, before you over pay for hyped up prices on mags, rifles, etc....remember the bump stocks.

TEXAS......... I left Virgin y three years ago for Texas. More work and money then you know what to do with and super friendly gun laws. I saw Virginny going downhill a decade ago. Excuse gun owners and evangelicals are to lazy to go out and vote for the most part.

Careful, TX is not too far behind. Where there are jobs and freedoms, the sheep from the troubled states/country will follow and bring some of the same problems from the areas they left. The left understands this and knows how to manipulate and move them (add some voter fraud into the mix). What happened here is continuing to spread.

Democrats are going to go crazier than a rat in a tin sh~t house!.It’s like Chris Plante says “give a democrat a thimble full of power and they’ll abuse it” realistically what are we as Virginians going to do to stop them? And I’m not talking about violence

Well, Northam has already said that he wants to reintroduce the 8 or 9 bills that he put before the legislature of the Summer that went no where. That includes "red flag" law, "assault weapon ban", magazine limits, end of no background checks for private party sales, law requiring 24hr notice to police when a gun is lost/stolen, 1 handgun per month purchase limit, etc.

The silver lining in all of this is the difference between Northam throwing bills out in front of a Republican legislature, for pure political grandstanding versus actually having the Dem state legislators stepping up and casting votes for them. Its one thing to be able to virtue signal, its another to cast votes and be on the record when many people who lean left on many issues don't support significant gun control measures.

It doesn't look good, but I don't think that its just a 100% given that those bills will be automatic for them. Which is why joining VCDL et al and/or being vocal with your state reps is important!

I'm hoping the newly elected will act rationally but they will likely not. Seeing the comments from Northam and from many of the newly elected, we have problems. It appears NOVA and Richmond is so heavily influenced by out of state resources, they are completely out of touch with the rest of Virginia which is spelling disaster...they are after more than our 2nd amendment rights.

Even though we are watching a train wreck in progress, I agree we need to support VCDL, etc. and work together as one!

The "ban everything" bill with ~25 co-sponsors, all Democrats:

https://lis.virginia.gov/cgi-bin/legp604.exe?192+sum+HB4021

They will NOT be acting rationally. Sugar Daddy Bloomberg wants a return on his multimillion dollar investment in Red Ralph and his cronies in the house of delegates.

Expect lots of action from Red Ralph on abortion too. See his donor list: https://www.vpap.org/committees/257049/northam-for-governor-ralph/

I have to agree here. While they certainly have a majority, if they want to maintain momentum going into 2020, I don't see anything like the AW Ban bill gaining any widespread traction as it is so draconian and moderate Dems will worry about the votes it would cost them moving forward. They'll try at some of the low-hanging fruit GC that they think they can get and then claim they "stood up to the NRA," and made "real change," etc as they're just virtue signalers anyway.

Poor turn out I'd say. The Commonwealth's RNC rolled over. Candidates and RNC didn't do anything in Northern VA, but the Dems were out. The Republicans thought they were going to hold their seats? NVA is infested with liberals and the rest of the Commonwealth sat on their duffs and didn't vote?

In my county nearly every local Republican incumbent is out! So it now joins Arlington, Fairfax, and Loudon dems in destroying the counties and Commonwealth.

The fight is over. The people chose to be subjugated to failed socialism, radicalized liberal ideology hellbent on infringing the people's rights and freedoms. The first thing to go is firearms. Sit back and watch the spectacle about befall every free, law-abiding Virginia firearm owner.

little emperor doucheburg dumped 6 MILLION into the elections. The NRA put 600K in. The demonrat commercials I saw on TV outnumbered repubs by 2 to 1. When you're talking an inhuman amount of money, there unfortunately isn't much you can do. How do you think OJ got off a double murder? Money.

In nj, while I was still there, we had a slogan. I WILL NOT COMPLY. And for the little time I have left in this cesspool of a state, I will stand by that statement again. I gave myself 10yrs till I moved again, when I came here in 2014. That timetable just got pushed up significantly.

To people saying "stay and fight".....we just did that. We fought. We were outspent, and frankly, outbred. I tried to stay and fight in NJ, until it was blatantly obvious it was a lost cause. I left 2 years before CC, and look at what happened there. The same will happen here. This WILL BE another commiefornia by january.

IMO there won't be a huge push for gun control until after the next National Election to become another version of the Peoples Republic of Maryland. That would rile up all the Republicans as well as a host of Democrats who support the Second Amendment. That's a bridge too far for the lefties. Now, if Trump loses the National Election then I can see 100 percent that we will become a mini-Maryland, which will flat out suck.

What I don't sell I am moving out of state. Until such time as I can leave Virginia for TN or WV. Things are not likely to ever improve, cost of living, taxes, everything will become prohibitively expensive living in VA. They will put toll booths on 81, collective bargaining, increases in taxes, gas taxes, etc...but hey you'll be able to abort your kid up to 13 if they have their way, oh yeah and legal weed, there is that.

Running away to another state is only throwing a blanket on the problem. This only shows the Dems that they are winning and we will just give in to whatever they want. Call your politicians, send emails, donate to VCDL and try to show up for lobby day. Nothing has even been passed yet and everyone wants to run away. I too hope results in a strong red voting wave in 2020 and we take the general assembly back in control.

What I think is, that short of using an 'assault rifle' openly, or using it in a crime, there will be many (not all) localities in Virginia that will adopt a 'don't ask, don't tell' approach. BUT, if you own an assault weapon post-ban and use it in your home for self defense, there is no way to get around it, you would become a felon even if you would be free and clear as of today. I also think that the number of county law enforcement agencies that will NOT comply will be overwhelming until, possibly, these laws will only apply to the blue localities on the election map. The better scenario is that they don't apply anywhere in the state.
