I submitted my form 4 (trust) back in September. If they pass this ban on suppressors, that would likely go into effect July 1. Any idea what would happen to those in pending? The ATF wouldn’t refund the $200- just say your stamp was approved. The stores surely can’t offer refunds to 1,000 people in limbo. What do you think will happen?

My last two suppressor Form 4s came back in 2.5 months.

August 1st to October 17th, and August 1st to October 21st.

You'll be good.

I don't know if I'd be buying cans after they pass a stupid law though.

My Form 4 Individual is currently pending. Check cashed 28 Jan. Called ATF and they said the standard is 10 months or end of Nov. Asked Rep Wittman's office to check and they got the same response, but hopefully my file got moved closer to the top of the stack.

Update - received an email from Cong Wittman's staff yesterday afternoon. My Form 4 was approved 7 Nov and stamp should be on the way. Approval came right after Wittman's office contacted ATF for a status.

My check cashed on 3/18/19 and they are still telling me December of this year at the earliest. Now I had a e-filed form 1 come back in 4 days.

I appreciate it guys. I called the ATF and they advised me August of next year at earliest and that they weren’t sure of what would happen if legislation is passed. Hopefully it’s sooner. Congrats USMA!

Why were mine so quick? I was hoping that it meant they had turned the corner on getting stamps approved.

Good luck to all.

Looking at the discussions on nfatracker.com it seems there were a number of applications that received expedited processing, but no one knows why or how selections were made by ATF. Congrats on getting yours so quickly!

All we can do is keep our fingers crossed. I’d love to be expedited. I don’t mind waiting at all- just want to be sure that I manage to get it!

Just picked up my SureFire SOCOM 300SPS!!! Pretty much in the nick of time too, as Quantico Tactical/Proven Outfitters in Woodbridge is closing in 18 days. Not sure what happens with NFA stuff still pending when an FFL closes, but no doubt it causes delays. So, from check cashed to stamp received was 311 days.

Thought I was in the clear until the other day. The ATF is predicting approval around August. It’s in NFA jail at Greentop. I spoke to Greentop the other day and they advised that I’ve already “purchased” the suppressor and it’s just that they wouldn’t be able to transfer it to me. I asked about a possible refund if that happens and they said they can’t! Now I’m getting worried about that too!

Anyone in your trust out of state?

Which bill bans suppressors? SB16 has the ban on all the ways you can attach a suppressor to your semiauto centerfire pistol or rifle.

Can anyone recommend a good attorney to draft an NFA Trust? I’d like to have one written rather than using a nationwide template.

John Pierce in Bristol. Pretty much any class 3 dealer in VA will know his work.
