This weapon was stolen from my residence on Friday morning from the Richmond, VA.

I know the name of the human who took it and am happy to discuss over PM.

It is in immaculate condition and may have a holster that is embossed with the Browning Military issue insignia.

The space underneath of the slide will have an engraving; I am happy to talk more about it over PM.

I am very interested in recovery or any information relating to the movement of this weapon.

I am happy to pay whatever you'd like if you have or know who has recently come into a weapon that doesn't seem to fit.

Thank you for your help.

Knowing the serial number would be helpful. make sure to post it to hotgunz.com as well.

I would advise anyone reading this thread to avoid getting involved. It stinks of either a nasty family squabble,or some form of entrapment scam.

You"know the human" that took this weapon, contact the police.

Not a scam or family squabble in the slightest. Poor judgement and regrettable actions mostly. Police are involved, just reaching out to any helpful communities on the World Wide Web.

Gun has an engraving on what I’ve been told is the upper receiver between the grip and slide. Happy to discuss if you’ve seen it recently.

Thank you for an honest reply.

Will keep an eye out, such a arm would most likely turn up as a "found in grandpa's sock drawer" find on the antique show/flea market/gun show find circuit if someone tries to resell. If I can supply any information, will oblige freely,I'd hate to see a piece of history in such shape get lost.

Eyesopen, do you have the serial number for the gun? Any pictures to post that would help someone identify it beyond it is a WW2 1911 with engraving on the upper receiver between the slide and grip? I ask because from your descriptions thus far it sounds more like you aren't versed in terminology and that is throwing up a lot of red flags to folks here more than likely. It can be a helpful group to ask to keep an eye out for it, but you have to provide a little more information for anyone to truely be of assistance.

If not, you have contacted the police, and they will take care of it as best as they can for you.

The engraving is "MJ"; I do not know why I have been holding onto that bit of information.

I am so sorry for the lack on information; if regrets were bullets I'd be set.

Other information you requested is being researched, and trust me I understand the implications for not having it.

Thank all of you for your help.
