This is the bill that essentially bans EVERYTHING semi auto, regardless of mag capacity. There's no reason why all this garbage won't continue to pass muster until blackface signs them all into law.

I hope people wake up. I hope Republicans and those who do not vote realize that the Democrats are going for everything. We are watching the total transformation of Virginia and it is happening quickly!

I heard the room was at capacity with orange stickers. When passed a large outcry ensued, the committee members had the State Police force everyone out under threat of arrest for trespassing. The rest of the committee items were done in an empty chamber, basically in secret.

ok, hold on. According to the lawyer guy Anderson, who's on our side 100%, posted a video explaining the 'substitutions' to 961.

As it passed on friday, 961 is essentially a magazine ban....NOT an outright weapon ban. As to the reason why they changed it....who knows. And it can easily change again.

As it's worded right now, mags greater than 12 are banned. That's essentially it. Any rifle or pistol purchased before July 1 2020 'can be kept', with NO registration. There seems to be NO wording of 'a pistol capable of accepting a mag greater than', so the ban on everything semi-auto is NOT in 961 anymore. It also bans the sale and transfer of ARs after July 1.

Since they changed, it it's NOT as bad as it was. But they can easily change it again.

What we need to do is get on the 3 demonrats who have the biggest chance of flipping in the senate. That way we can have the majority and kill this bill in the senate.

i read it as, you can keep assault rifle till july 2020- Then you must pay $50.00 to get a permit with state (register) to keep it after january 2021- if you don't register - you are not conforming-Also semi auto center fire ammunition pistols are mag limited to 12 rounds- it states that farther down in bill- please correct if i read it wrong,

They passed a last minute substitute version yesterday that differs on those points. It raised a few new questions in my mind though.

I believe you won’t have to register, but you won’t be able to buy or sell anymore. You can transfer to immediate family or out of state. Mag capacity goes to 12. Suppressors are what I’m wondering about, not banned but if I buy one tomorrow does that count as the sale, or when the stamp is approved? I’d hate to buy one and have it sit in NFA jail forever because my stamp wasn’t approved before July of this year.

No matter how you read it, there is NO positive spin on this bill...it's all bad. It obvious that these delegates do not care or want to hear what their constituents have to say, just only they pull the party line and getting more/paying back campaign cash from Bloomberg.

If 2A supporters can somehow flip VA back, and kick out these bully Democrats, is this simply a matter of passing a new law that nullifies or reverses this idiocy? I'm not naive, I know with the gerrymandering going on, and the change in demographics in VA, it will be difficult to retake all three; House, Senate and Governor, but it is something to work for.

There is bill that just made through Virginia’s Senate’s Finance and Appropriations Committee that allows several hundred thousands illegals in VA to obtain driver’s licenses. Currently, legal residency/status is required to obtain a DL but that requirement will go away. Add this to the upcoming changes to redistricting, and huge out is state money, we will have major problems voting them out of office in very short order and they know this.

Well, as perfidious as giving illegals drivers licenses (!), it does not mean they can vote, too. Not yet....

What is to stop them? Only thing stopping more of them is not having a VA driver’s license/ID. Currently there a few thousand illegals/non-citizens registered to vote in VA, you will now have a flood if this bill passes (has a good chance of passing and see what happened in NY). Considering some seats were decided by less than a 1k votes, what do you think our future holds when the majority of them vote Democratic that want to destroy all of our rights? Why do you think the newly elected Dems are pushing this? Check out the articles below.

as soon as these laws pass, it does mean they'll be voting. Take a look at what they're doing:

1. repeal ALL voter ID laws
2. give illegal immigrants licenses
3. make getting a license automatic voter registration
4. nothing stopping manuel and yuan and paco who just jumped the fence from getting a real state issued DL, automatically registering them to vote, and of course voting demonrat, as they are the party to give them free stuff.

Where they are from is irrelevant. They just strongly lean voting for/support the Dems whom, for some reason, want to destroy our rights (not just the 2nd amendment). This will be a much, much, bigger issue if the proposed DL bill becomes law. We are facing a lot of battles on different fronts.

As for HB961, I assume we try to stop it on the house floor then the senate. Please contact your house delegate ASAP! If your delegate was one of those who voted for this monster, let them know you will do everything you can to ensure they lose their seat.

From VCDL
HB 961, Delegate Mark Levine's "assault weapon," higher-capacity magazine, and suppressor ban cleared the House Public Safety committee by a 12 to 9 party line vote. The bill that passed was a substitute that made a few insignificant changes to the original bill. HB 961 no longer requires registration for current owners to keep their "assault weapon" (no new "assault weapons" can be purchased) and it raises the legal capacity-limit for magazines from 10 rounds to 12 rounds.

Bad votes are In red (YEAS):
YEAS--Hope, Bourne, Plum, Kory, Lopez, Rasoul, Price, Levine, Carroll Foy, Helmer, Simonds, Jenkins--12.

It pisses me off that 'illegals' can vote in CA and likely here and goodness knows where else with no consequence, yet I, as a green card holder, tax payer in the US for 4 years, can't register to vote as I'd be immediately deported, losing everything I own, worked for and hold dear. I've lived through 2 gun confiscations in England and now face it here. I'd vote every Democrat out of office but I can't. Illegals want to vote them in and CAN!

Are you taking about the standard of ID verification of FTF sales or having it done through NICS?

It means EVERYTHING will have to go through NICS, thereby creating a defacto registration
