I have an M1917 from Eddystone, manufacture date 1918, that meets the following description found on-line.

I am trying to determine the collector interest / value of this piece of history.
Any specific KNOWLEDGEABLE input / interest would be appreciated.

It seems to be very limited early production in 1918 w remaining Mil parts of what was to become a Remington Mod 30 not released to public until 1921.....
I believe the Remington Mod 700 eventually replaced the Mod 30.
This is essentially an unidentified "model" Factory Modified predecessor to the Mod 30.
I would term it as a Prototype Remington Mod 30.

Some historical information I have found on-line:

In 1918, after the end of World War I and termination of contracts for both the P14 and M1917, Remington was left with two factories (the main factory at Ilion and a subsidiary at Eddystone) tooled up to make the M1917, and was also left with a large inventory of stored spare parts.[6] It was decided to make a sporting version of the P14-M1917 model rifles at the Ilion plant. In 1921, Remington introduced the Model 30 High Power sporting rifle in caliber 30-06 Springfield. Early models differed from the military rifles by deleting the prominent rear sight protection ears and machining the receiver bridge to the same diameter as the receiver ring, and straightening the floorplate.

No input, No one has any knowledge to share re the M1917?

I have an Eddystone M1917, it's a good shooter. I don't really know much about the post-war sporters.

Sporter guns usually less then $300. You can try the CMP forums under the bolt guns they might be better at assessing the value. If it was original military configuration your looking at $800.

It is factory manufactured sporter using Mil parts, only the sight is modified.
But I understand your point not "Mil" issue.

Being what appears to be a very limited production of prototype Mod 30, before it was designated as Mod 30, I am hoping it has some significant collector value.
