I have a Shockwave and picked up a 590A1 barrel that I want to cut down for it. It is the heavy-wall version.

Any tips on cutting this thick monster down? I have done thin(ner) walled barrels before, but this one is THICK.

I have the muzzle facing cutter tool. I guess I can just use a cutting wheel.

Ideas?

To me it's worth sending out, but I know my limitations. You only get one shot, and you can't add length back on if something goes sideways on it.

I believe you have to build a "firearm" from scratch. IE: I don't think you can cut down a rifle or shotgun into a "firearm".

If he’s cutting it down to 18 inches it’s fine, but going below is an SBS and needs a form one. He didn’t specify. You’re right in that “firearms” like the Tac-14 have to be manufactured from virgin receivers and not modified from an existing shotgun. Which makes no sense...

I'm not sure what the confusion is -- I already have a non-NFA Shockwave and I want to cut a SECOND barrel for it.

It already has a 14" barrel. I want to make a second one.

I am asking about the process, not the legality.

That should be fine - bad reading comprehension on my part.

Hacksaw, emery cloth and cold blue should do the trick.

I believe the magazine tubes are different lengths on the Shockwave vs the 590a1. Therefore the barrel rings are in a different location.
