Why Isn’t the US Preparing for EMP War Like the Rest of the World? Let’s start with Russia **Non-Contact Warfare was the name of Russian General Vladimir Slipchenko’s military textbook. Within this text, he explains how EMPs are the greatest revolution in military affairs in history. According to Slipchenko, the possession of an EMP renders an enemy’s armies, navies, and air forces completely obsolete, and it’s hard to argue with him there. https://freedomfirstnetwork.com/2021/06/...utm_source=econOld Info: but revelent —imho https://www.esd.whs.mil/Portals/54/Docum...00706-Final.pdfhttps://militaryembedded.com/radar-ew/si...-warfare-part-2============================================================== https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KsPLmb6gAdw&feature=youtu.bePublished on Dec 5, 2019 Steven L. A great "story" regarding life after an EMP is the Going Home series by A. American. 10 books total, so it is a long read. The series is obviously fictional but provides a lot of information and tips on preparedness.
Should an EMP hit America, we are screwed. We are the most technologically advanced country in the world. Therefore we have the most to lose from an EMP attack.

Seems like just a matter of time. Either some Iranian backed group launches a nuke Scud off of a freighter or detonates one in an airliner, or China uses it as a precursor to cripple us before invading Taiwan.

Probably due to the fact that much of the current science says that EMP events will be extremely localized and that wide propagation given current adoption of technology is very unlikely. Care to enlighten us on that conclusion? With so much of our world dependent on micro electronic connections/chips, etc. it would seem that a nuke set off up high would wreak havoc over a very large area.

40 years ago, EMP was a major concern for US planners. Hence the investment in alternative CCC. (Communication,Command,Control.) the biggest shift? Non conducting communication systems (fiber optics systems), cellular communication, and the biggie, TCP-IP. Electric distribution is more vulnerable to blast damage and control software viruses then EMP, due to the nature of these new controls. The Iran and Chinese are more dangerous with a keyboard then a EMP Nuke. Air gapping rhe control systems is still our greatest vulnerability.

I always understood that long transmission lines acted as an amplifier, meaning that the power grid was at greatest risk along with unprotected devices plugged into it. The point about fiber optics is a good one, since I’m sure they are insulated, but starfish prime and an incident over the old Soviet union would suggest that there is at least some validity to the concerns over our generation and transformers.

MAD (Mutually Assured Distruction) is only valid if the threat is real. With today's leadership, it isn't. 2 or 2 Nukes would be seen as "Forgivable". Especially if it didn't hit High concentration of population, but instead took out CCC.

Ain’t that the truth? The current administration would decline to strike back because of climate change or economic inequality or some other BS.
