This past August, two friends and I did a Blacktail hunt on Kodiak Island. My buddy Hunter is an extremely talented backcountry videographer who filmed, edited and produced a short film about the trip, which is especially impressive considering he was filming by himself about 95% of the time. This is a very candid and transparent representation of all the challenges and rewards associated with hunting somewhere as wild as Kodiak, and was a trip I'll remember for the rest of my life. Hope you guys enjoy!

No sweat! That place is legitimately like the Garden of Eden in August- salmon runs so prolific they change the color of large rivers, Blacktail everywhere, wild blueberries and salmonberries bursting from every bush. It's pretty wild. It also can get pretty hairy- the film doesn't show it much because we were trying to protect camera equipment, but that storm in between the first buck and the last two was strong enough that it broke the poles of our gear shelter in camp and we were unable to glass because the wind would literally blow our spotters over off their tripods.

If anyone has Kodiak questions, feel free to shoot me a PM! Also check Hunter's Youtube channel or other social pages for more similar content
