This Vintage 50s 60s Camillus US MC-1 Aircrew / Paratrooper Switchblade Auto Knife is in fair condition and is in need of repair. The blade is well marked and the stamp on the ricasso appears to indicate early 60s production. Camillus won the second contract for these knives in 1958, so the earliest production would have occurred at the end of the 50s. The push-button deployment no longer functions as it was designed, however it is still able to be partially engaged. While partially engaged the blade does not fully rest within the liner. The internal spring still is strong and the blade can easily be launched into the open / locked position "manually." The blade edge is clean though signs of age and use are detectable. The orange plastic grips are clean and free from noticeable damage however one side appears more faded than the other. A good project for the right person or an interesting piece to display in your collection.
