Made by Remington Arms Company between 1951 and 1969 with around 5,557 made. Gun is in good shape for 60 years old, has just sat in a gunsafe for probably the last 50 of those years. Gun has 24" blued round Fluid Steel smooth bore counterbored Routledge barrel (to look at the end of the barrel you'd think this is a .410 shotgun so "opened up" for shot pattern spread) with bead front sight and standard Remington Address and Model markings in .22 Shot caliber. Blued bolt action single shot with polished steel bolt. Standard walnut plain pistol grip one piece stock with Remington hard rubber butt plate. CALIBER: 22 Shot.
It was mainly used for an indoor shooting game using the Mo-Skeet-O trap thrower (clay birds the size of a Ritz Cracker).  After that craze died down, there were very few produced, as smoothbore .22's were always a specialty gun. Collectors-you don't see these very often at all! $800 obo
