What's the going rate on a case of MRE's, I see a lot of crazy #s floating around.

How many do you keep on hand?

Real MREs... Last time (several months ago) I checked them in the Commissary I think they were $7.70 each. I don't think they discount the price by the case. I'll try to remember to check the pricing when I'm there next.

If you have access to a commissary that doesn't stock them on the shelf, they will order for you.

EDIT: Confirmed price today (13JUN) $7.70

I guess there is a premium for new and knowing they were properly stored. You can purchase them anywhere from $50-$100+/- per case from a dealer that have good dates and are properly stored (supposedly), cheaper if you take a chance with buying them off an individual. I bought 2 cases last year and paid about $50 each.

Amazon has deal on for a case of "B" menu for $47.

If you're anywhere close to Fayetteville NC there are super deals on fresh cases for about $30 a case on Craigslist
Less than 1/2 of VA prices

I have spare cases (A & B) at $55 a case.

As for "freshness" dates... IMHO that is seriously overrated. I fought forest fires for decades... and ate MREs from the 1980s that were fine (hell, might have been better than the new ones ("quality ingredients wise").

My cases are 5 years old +/-
