1911 brands - 03/14/20 06:44 PM

I've been keeping an eye on the used market for 1911s. I have a pretty good idea of manufacturer quality for most of the brands but I'm somewhat puzzled by Sig. Generally, I think they make a pretty good product but I also see a lot of used Sig 1911s for sale, so it makes me wonder why folks are trying to unload them. Anyone have any insight into Sig's 1911s for me?
And, yes, I checked the 1911 forum and it's not very active. I've also looked up reviews online and found a mixed bag but I'm wondering what this crowd has to say.
Thanks.

Sig makes a traditional 1911 and one with a slightly different slide profile that closely resembles their P-series guns.
The one with the P-series profile doesn't fit traditional 1911 holsters.

Sig 1911's also have an external extractor which some folks don't like.

As to why there's an influx of "Sig" 1911's on the site,
I can't say for sure.

I would speculate that most of those guns were bought as safe queens. When folks need the extra cash or want a new toy the things they don't use go first.

I have a Sig for sale on here. My reason for selling this particular one is that I purchased the one I really wanted (Sig Emperor Scorpoin) and I really don't need 2. My sale has nothing to do with the quality of pistol. It has to do with having more than I need. Colt, Kimber, Sig, and Springfield all make excellent 1911's and are very close in quality.
