CALL TO ACTION! Second Amendment Sanctuaries - Fighting Back Against Tyranny! - 11/22/19 08:25 PM

https://vcdl.org/

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hK_w8sNMEoEIn just over two weeks we now have TEN Second Amendment Sanctuary counties:

*Current as of 11DEC2019, there are 81 (EIGHTY ONE!) confirmed Second Amendment Sanctuaries in the Old Dominion! This is a great beginning, we must keep the pressure on our elected officials at every level regardless of party affiliation. A right not exercised is a right soon lost.

No freeman shall be debarred the use of arms [within his own lands].
Draft Constitution for Virginia (June 1776) This quote often appears with the parenthetical omitted and with the spurious extension, "The strongest reason for the people to retain their right to keep and bear arms is as a last resort to protect themselves against tyranny in government". -Thomas Jefferson drafting the Virginia Constitution June 1776.

19. Action item: Member to address Fairfax County Board of Supervisors about 2A Sanctuary resolution on December 3

Board Auditorium
Fairfax County Government Center
12000 Government Center Parkway
Fairfax, VA 22035

It is a large auditorium and it would be spectacular if it were flooded with gun owners tired of being treated like peons by the County!

If you live in Fairfax County, contact your Board of Supervisors member and urge them to pass a resolution making Fairfax County a 2nd Amendment Sanctuary.

For Fairfax County residents only. Include your name, address, and indicate your support for Fairfax County becoming a 2nd Amendment Sanctuary as 23 localities have already done. I spoke at the IOW meeting on thursday. I'm cautiously optimistic, but it could be an empty hope. The IOW sheriff is a raging demonrat, and already said he'll enforce ANYTHING that comes from richmond.

Is he elected ot appointed? If he's elected the IOW County Supervisors or whoever hired him can fire him.

If he's elected the people of IOW know what they have to do...highlight every 'injustice', keep every negative you can find in the public eye, point out that he serves Richmond, not the people of IOW.

...unless the people of IOW feel like he does, then you're $%^(^*&, just like me in Fairfax, where they want to suspend police officers that work with ICE on and after apprehensions of illegal alien criminals.

Re: CALL TO ACTION! Second Amendment Sanctuaries - Fighting Back Against Tyranny! - 11/24/19 08:12 PM

The current IOW sheriff is elected. When the sheriff before him retired (summer 2018?), this current guy was appointed to fill the role of interim sheriff until special elections were held. As the incumbent, he won easily (not sure there was even an opponent).

The Board of Supervisors can't do much - the county board has no role in the operations of a sheriff's office, and can't dismiss or order a sheriff. However, a board does have the power of the purse - they can threaten to reduce funding (but that's kind of a wet noodle threat - what county board is going to reduce public safety capabilities, and face the wrath of the voters on that?).

Grassroots efforts need to begin to mount an election challenge to unseat any sheriff who supports unconstitutional gun regulations. IF there is enough energy to pass a 2A Sanctuary resolution, shouldn't there be enough energy to elect a pro 2A sheriff, next time elections come around?

Also, isn't a key IOW deputy still under investigation by the State Police? I still don't know what that was all about, but if there is an inkling of wrongdoing or corruption in the IOW Sheriff's office, that would be a handy reason to mount a recall campaign to remove the elected sheriff. THAT can be done by petition to a circuit court.

Trying to keep this focused on the original topic:
- Sanctuary resolutions must be pursued
- efforts need to begin to unseat anti-2A sheriffs in the next election

And, an interesting test case would be a petition to recall if a sheriff actually tries to enforce one of these extremist gun control bills - a cause of recall may be violation of his oath of office, by dishonoring the state Constitution, by pursuing enforcement of laws that may be in conflict with the state constitution. This is a risky strategy, if the circuit court hearing the recall petition is not 2A friendly either. Such a recall petition would need to happen in a 2A friendly court.

Virginia sheriff promises to “deputize thousands” if necessary to protect their “right to own firearms”

The sheriff of Culpeper County, Virginia deserves the praise of every American who holds the Second Amendment near and dear to their hearts. In the wake of numerous gun control proposals from incoming Democrat lawmakers, Sheriff Scott Jenkins has hit back, promising to deputize thousands of his constituents should any bill threaten their constitutional right to own firearms and thereby impact their ability to defend themselves and their loved ones.

I'm glad that all these counties are passing 2A sanctuary resolutions but, other than making everybody feel good what does it accomplish? They have no force of law. State, city, and other local law enforcement aren't bound by it. And if you think the tyrants in Richmond care about your sanctuary resolutions you're more disillusioned than they are. Those localities that put the dems in power could care less. Face it, we've lost 3 of the 4 boxes. Only one left.

Just a reminder - Sen. Saslaw's AWB bill does not yet have a House companion version. KEEP ON CONTACTING YOUR DELEGATES (ESPECIALLY IF THEY ARE DEMOCRATS). Make it clear that Saslaw's bill simply goes too far. The 2A Sanctuary is - if nothing else - a reminder that it goes too far. That it does not reflect the "will of the people" in a huge part of the state.

So, to answer PsychoUSMC's question, what does the 2A Sanctuary movement accomplish? It is a HIGHLY visible signal to legislators of the grassroots feelings of the people.

It a a direct threat to their agenda. Which is why they are so quick to call supporters "extremists." Which is why they are so quick to lie and say this is the "mischief of the gun lobby." Which is why the movement is getting scarce attention from their allies in the press. Because it really does indicate that the people think they are going too far.

Which is why we need to keep up the effort, and keep it in the public eye. We are not extremists. We are not the gun lobby. We are the people of Virginia.

And we the people are making our voices heard, because our newly elected legislators are already not listening.

This to me is a pure of free speech and protest.

Agreed!
Keep the pressure UP on the Delegates and Senators bu calling both Dems and Republicans. Remind them that their are much more worthy causes they could be working on. Roads, schools, opium addiction, lowering the taxes, cleaning up our Chesapeake Bay, or the greatest threat to all live in Virginia... Nuclear Waste that is stored above ground at North Anna and Surry power plants.
Refocus their attention into achieving a goal that will benefit humanity on a greater scale than just segregating our society into a world of haves and have nots through failed social democracy polices of Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia.

Hanover County passed 2A unanimously.
All Parking lots filled, streets between the parking lots and the road all packed. The chambers building packed beyond capacity, the square in front of the county council chambers was filled with people... all wearing Guns Save Lives! Orange stickers.

Prince William County passed it's 2A Sanctuary law as well as Spotsylvania County. The turn out at the PW County meeting was awesome! 1,000+ standing room only...anywhere! Over 90 speakers. I waited 4 1/2 hours for my 2 minutes. Everyone there made me feel so proud to be an American. So proud to be a Virginian!

January 7th 2pm we must meet once again and let our position be known loud and clear.

United we stand!
God bless America and we the Virginians!
Keep up the good fight people

Everyone should be emailing and encouraging others to email the president at the whitehouse.gov site and asking all good conservatives in all public forums to do the same. This is what i sent this morning.

I just want to Let President Trump know that I support and encourage others to support the work he and the military are doing for Americans, We are aware that the fake impeachment is the democrat's last ditch attempt to take him down so he can't destroy the deep state liberal democrats that are destroying our country and ask if he is aware that these liberal democrats are trying to violate the constitutional protections of the people, to have and bear arms in Virginia. Thank you President Trump for standing up for Americans and America.

I'm in Salem City. I have written the Mayor and all council members. The last meeting on the 9th of December was "not" open to public comment. I have emailed again and asked them when the next meeting that "allows" public comment is. All the counties around our city are 2A sanctuaries.... If We can get our voice heard, I can get VCDL to pack it in....
