VA gun sold in PA - 06/27/16 06:18 PM

I am visiting PA this weekend and want to sell a rifle at the venue in PA. Is it legal?

Are you a PA resident?

My understanding is that the only way a resident from one state may sell to the resident of another state is to go through a FFL.

Legal? No.
Likelihood of getting caught? Low
The choice? Up to you.

I am not a PA resident. In a face to face transaction in VA, I don't ask for residency as a matter of law. Thought it might be similar in PA.

I'd not chance it T . Not sure of the venue you're talking about but if there's guns there will be LE there I'd be willing to bet .

Your call but I'd hate to see ya locked up in a PA jail for it . laugh

Thanks LB. Just to be clear that is why I asked question. I do not want to break the law. Just was not sure of the laws concerning this. As luck would have it there is a PA FFL dude shooting the match also so I will get with him and make it right. Thanks everyone for all the info.

T, I believe it is federal law that prohibits a trans state private sale.

I remember reading it when looking up the active duty military exception to it.

I am certainly not advocating you break the law, merely informing you.

I believe FAQ #2 should answer your question.
