Message from "PPSH" - 11/05/18 05:43 PM

Anyone else get a message from a member with the screen name "PPSH"? I got a short message that wasn't very well written and quite short. Seemed fishy to me........

Funny you say that because I did to and there full of it... Tried to keep getting my phone number but wouldn't cooperate with me on anything. Think a moderater needs to be notified but I don't know how to do that. I definitely wouldn't deal with them.

(How are you doing my name do you still have for sale if so what is your number?? I have ccw and id thank you.)

**So this is the third message to me. First and second ones were worded just about the same as this.

(If your serious about the purchase give me your number and I'll contact you to set it all up. Thanks)

**This is what I sent back after replying twice already and I wouldn't give my number because it just seemed fishy.

(Not trying to be difficult with you but you've contacted me several times about the XD and I've told you the same thing each time but you still haven't given me your number... So from my point of view your a new user with no posts or anyone vouching for you so that makes me think your trying to scam me in some way so until you give me a number that I can contact you on we can't move forward. Thanks)

**I then sent this one just to try and make sure I wasn't treating anyone unfairly.

(I’m sorry if you feel that way or I came of as being a scammer my name is Michael my number is+XXXXXXXX)

--- phone number edited for privacy---

**Got that back and when I called the person who answered said hey I'm in a meeting can I call you back in ten minutes. I dunno how they knew who was calling or what it pertained to because I never said what I was calling about or who i was and it was also on a Sunday.. Kinda weird day to be in a meeting. Haven't had any contact back since.

I hope this helps figure stuff out. And if this is a real person then im sorry for all the B.S. right here but something just doesn't seem right. Thanks to the operaters of this site for always being diligent in solving these issues. Hopefully this keeps someone from being taking advantage of.

Ok.. So what does that mean that it's a scammer or that's just all the info associated with the number? Might be a dumb question I dunno lol. Thanks

I got a message from him last month which I ignored based on the way it was written. I also was curious about his handle because I am admittedly less into guns than most of you. Upon reading his possible reason for picking that handle, I learned something. I am just still not sure what I learned!
Pistolet-Pulemet Shpagina (Shpagin's Pistol-Machinegun)was designed by Georgii Shpagin in '41 to match the Finns' and Germans' submachine guns. Simple and reliable, with a compensator to stem muzzle climb, the Ppsh had a staggering rate of fire as well as high accuracy and destructive power.

I got one from him the other day. He was asking about a pistol that I didn't have listed and have never owned.

I deleted the message before I ever opened the PM.

Re: Message from "PPSH" - 12/29/18 10:25 AM

I got a similar message. Said he was in dumbfries but he mentioned buying all three of my pistols as a gift. Seemed kind of fishy. I spoke to him on the phone and he asked if I could meet same day (Christmas Eve) and that he would want a reduced price for buying all three guns I had listed. I just got a bad feeling about the guy and said that I was thought I was pretty firm on price and couldn't meet on that day. Didn't hear anything else from him.

While buying multiple guns from the same buyer doesnt seem too weird for me, the fact that he wanted to buy multiple guns as "gifts" seemed kind of fishy to me. Plus he said he was in the dumbfries/DC area so that kind of gave me some red flags as well (maybe he was actually a DC or MD resident). The way he spoke was just....kind of fishy.

I was just contacted by him as well. Hmmm.

Re: Message from "PPSH" - 01/04/19 09:20 PM

PPSH messaged me about a gun, wanted to meet the same day. When I told him I'd need 2 IDs and would require a VA Gun Trader bill of sale, he suddenly said he found another gun and wasn't interested anymore.

Just an FYI

This jackelope just messaged me this morning about a Glock 32....from the same number he/she previously used to contact others.

Re: Message from "PPSH" - 01/10/19 03:21 PM

Update: so I told this guy I'd only go through with the transfer if we went to an FFL. He was alright with that, but got super defensive when I asked him if the Glock was for him or someone else, since another forum member mentioned he was looking to buy guns as "gifts" for someone else. He had some choice language for me, and then broke contact.
