New Bans submitted - 11/26/23 05:52 PM

Let your reps and senators know that support for HB2 and SB2 will not be obtained. "Assault weapon and standard cap mag ban". We need to take VA back after this past November. Let them know who their boss is, the people.

I don’t think any of these bills even if they managed to pass both the House and Senate, would not survive the Governor’s veto.

I see this as all symbolic, the real fun begins in 2025 when we vote for a new governor.

This. The leftards know they have almost no chance getting their gun control bills passed in 2024 but all bets are off come Jan, 2025.

Youngkin probably won't sign an AWB/mag ban as he has Senate desires.
That said, his victory was highly helped by Suburban Karen's who hate guns, so he may sign some Anti gun stuff to keep them happy.
I could see him signing an ammo background check law, adding to RFL, etc.

Spamburger absolutely will sign the Va Safe Act in 2026 when she is sworn in.

The GOP lost on 1 issue, abortion. If it still an issue in 2025, or if the Dems can make it the issue, the GOP will lose. Women 18-40 vote Dem 70-30 and it is that single issue that is the driver.

How depraved has America become when 50% of the country sets it sole voting issue as the "right to abortion"? We are fawked.

This is why I hope for Stoney. He will be too busy taking bribes and getting his cousin's roommate's sister's ex-boyfriend's fiance' a high paying job.

Re: New Bans submitted - 01/04/24 02:04 PM

Even if they become law, there were four other gun case holdings that the Supreme Court issued at same time as Bruen. All had their anti-gun rulings thrown out (“vacated”) and were sent back (“remanded”) to the lower courts to be reconsidered based on the new Bruen ruling.
Young v Hawaii – Hawaii’s denial of CHPs to citizens. The Supreme Court has already said they will have to go "shall issue."
Duncan v Bonita – California’s ban on magazines that hold more than 10 rounds. Such magazines are in common use.
Bianchi v Frosh – Maryland’s “assault weapon” ban. AR-15s are in common use.
ANJRPC v. Grewal – New Jersey’s ban on magazines that hold more than 10 rounds. Such magazines are in common use.

Elections have consequences and 2019 clearly showed us what the anti rights politicians will do. I don't understand how we failed to take both chambers last year. We have some dark days ahead.

Re: New Bans submitted - 03/05/24 03:24 AM

We lost Because the Dems effectively made the entire election about the GOP outlawing abortion.

Women 18-40 voted Dem BY MORE THAN 2-1, you cannot win an election until you 'solve' that problem. You either need to recognize it and move the party accordingly, or be prepared to lose many races.

Re: New Bans submitted - 03/05/24 03:36 PM

I just read that only 39% of registered Republicans turned out for the last general election in VA. That is why we lost... apathy, plain and simple.
