WTS S&W Model 24-3 in .44 special, 3 inch barrel $2,500 - 03/02/24 04:43 PM

For sale is a gorgeous Smith & Wesson model 24-3 in the coveted .44 Special. This sports the highly desired 3 inch pencil barrel. This is possibly a Lew Horton model, but has a few differences. Comes with S&W branded Nill-Griffe grips (made in Germany) that are an excellent reproduction of the S&W “coke bottle” style and made out of walnut. This model grips are nearly impossible to buy in U.S. anymore, and new were $250. Also, this revolver has Meprolight front and rear sights with the tritium inserts, but again, all in the OEM front and rear sight profiles (front sight is an insert, and rear is a replacement blade). Rear sight is fully adjustable.

Has had a professional action job to smooth up all internals which lightens the pull weight slightly and feel, yet nothing was done to any springs so that it is fully functional with all ammo and reliable for everyday carry. This revolver has been a safe queen its entire life, and only taken to the range once or twice. The bluing is 98%, and just about perfect except for a very faint cylinder line that all revos get from cycling.

Serial number is ALA#### which makes it likely a 1986 production run, but possibly a 1987.

Asking $2,500 in Woodbridge, VA. You can pick the FFL for the legal transfer within 15 mins or so of Woodbridge, or I can pick one for you.
