Ok guys , I’ve been tinkering with guns ever since I’ve been collecting (20 years or so) so I’d say I’m an amateur to mediocre gunsmith , and I do have the proper tools , punch and screwdriver sets . Ok so I ordered a Wilson combat trigger for my rock island cs officers model , gun came apart free of issue , trigger even dropped right in ! No burrs or super tight fit or anything , mags insert and drop free smooth as butter , put gun back together , no pinching no grinding nothing everything seems to operate smoothly BUT when I pull the trigger and leave the grip safety alone the hammer still engages and I’ve torn the gun down 5 times , at one point when I release the slide the hammer would drop as well but the last I put it back together , that stopped , so anyway I’m thinking I may need a new sear spring and beaver tail safety (which I’m considering replacing with Wilson combat components anyway) and I’m pretty sure sear and disconnect are installed properly so I do not think that is my problem , what say you aficionados ? Thanks for any help !

That has to do with the sear spring I had the same issue
See I was thinking the same thing , maybe I should just order the Wilson combat sear spring ?

I’m not a “gunsmith” but the spring if you look at it has a way to seat properly if you get on YouTube it will tell you how to fix it without carrying it to the shop it’s actually pretty easy and quick to do

1911 shop manual, swapping parts can become a big problem as everything cascades.

https://youtu.be/E6SmlOEzNBsMake sure there is enough tension on the sear spring. You can bend it in a bit to increase tension. Does the grip safety spring back when not held down?
If you push the grip safety up and out above the pin by the hammer will it fire?
Are the 3 fingers outside of the sear & disconnect when assembled?
Yeah the grip safety springs back and everything , thumb safety works , it’s got to be the sear or the sear spring
I wonder if I should just replace everything Wilson combat : sear , disconnect , hammer , beavertail , sear spring and mainspring housing
Ok conclusion : I ordered a Wilson Combat sear spring and had to add a little more tension on the grip safety leaf , she works like a charm !
