A medicine for melancholy - 11/24/19 10:10 AM

Love watching the saber rattling going on since the most recent election.Pretty sure most of the nosiest don't remember the Cuban Missile Crisis, the '68 Gun Control Act,and probably were still at mom's t*t( at least the ones that weren't still in the oven, while the better part dried up on the sheets)when the original assault weapons ban was part of the Clinton era.All sort of silly, really. You've forgotten books.

Yes,books, those strange antiques you see scattered about.

This year, when you make up your wish list for things, try some books.Kind of hard to destroy all that printed information, and it makes for a relaxing occupation of time, reading.

Some titles I would suggest as relevant for those that live in fear of loosing guns:

Machinery's Handbook- pre-1970 is the best

Machine Tool Operation, Pt.1
H.D. Burghardt, A. Axelrod

Machine Tool Operation, Pt. 2
Burghardt,Axelrod,Anderson

Advanced Gunsmithing
W.E. Vickery

The Handloader's Manual of Cartridge Conversions
J.J. Donnely

How to build:
Muzzleloading Rifle, Cowher
Building a Muzzleloading Target Pistol,Hunley
A Powder Horn,Johnston
.....an old NMLRA book, but have drilled a 60" barrel with Mr. Cowher's machine, and the machine cost me about $20

The Sten Gun
Leroy Thompson

The book of the Crossbow
Ralph Payne-Gallwey

As to chemistry(propellants, primers, etc.) you are on your own, with one piece of advice:
If making black gun powder.IT IS A NECESSITY TO MAKE SURE THE CHARCOAL IS COMPLETELY CHARRED BLACK,BROWN CHARCOAL CHANGES THE PRESSURE CURVE FROM LUP TO CUP.

Add titles you may feel relevant!

Here's hoping I haven't violated the Prime Directive.

cash!how good to see you!

....and I thought this thread was dead due to illiteracy.Seems the functionally illiterate may yet revive it. Still smarting from me explaining the nature of agnosticism (AND USING THOMAS JEFFERSON AS AN EXEMPLAR,darwinism thread),or is it still troubling you that "someone" called attention to you selling a revolver with a "missing, easily replaced part" ? My guess is we shall never know.

For those of you that may be following this thread,I'd like to suggest getting a copy of the current Backwoodsman magazine (Nov-Dec 2019). Some really facinating things! And as was said, please feel free to add your own favorite titles to the thread.

Literacy is the hallmark of a free society.

As to you rather bizzare sexual suggestions, while "I don't swing that way", in your case I'm willing to try it,if only to see your face. Your fetishism for analingus being what it is,I'll bring some honey and bathe scrupiously to make the experience as pleasurable for you as possible. However,be aware that I'll also be giving you a facial if you are any good.

Is that what happened because your last post didn't read that way. It read like politician's position to a question that no one asked or stated and then followed by a non-sequitur about the person that actually wrote in ink, and on paper, 'that they are endowed by their Creator'

Also in before the lock.

Re: A medicine for melancholy - 11/27/19 05:01 PM

Didn't bother going to the wikipedia page on the Jeffereson Bible,eh?

EDIT: By the way,the issue was with cash's post after my initial comment on the darwinism thread.

Re: A medicine for melancholy - 11/27/19 09:31 PM

The Jefferson Bible meaning Jefferson's work, The Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth?

Are you conflating a potential disbelief in the divinity of Christ with disbelief in a Supreme being because of a cut and paste out of the gospels which removed the miracles of Jesus to focus on the teachings?

Tip of the hat, tom. Just asking my species to do one of the things we are supposedly good at:

think

For the readers: PISTOLS AND REVOLVERS, HATCHER,J. A.

Everybody says they have heard of the book, few have read it. Especially interesting is the section on gun control in light of the current situation.

Actually cash, the current estimate on the number of species of algae may be over 1 million. Please be more specific if you possibly can.

Once again, cash, you show yourself as one of the great arguments for literacy beyond the simplist form.

Doesn't really matter Dusty... you are still a blithering idiot fighting like hell to remain relevant.

Like I said before... go take a blue pill and play hard with yourself.

Let me explain something to you, cash:

If you have actually been reading the threads of the last few days, there are more important issues being discussed than our ongoing feud.

Please be silent and allow others to post regarding the status of firearms in the state of Virginia.I will still be here, and we can resume the thread.

A book that I would suggest for the folks on this site:

"The Moon Is Down", by John Steinbeck. No doubt Lue will call it a "Red" manifesto, but if ever there was a call for freedom in a piece of fiction;this is it.

Dusty... to imply that VAGT members are too stupid to walk and chew gum at the same time is truely your rudest insult ever.

Maybe YOU can't think on two subjects at the same time, but most of us can:

1) Fight for Constitutional Rights

AND

2) Do other stuff that life demands (including FUN STUFF) like below

This is literally the most sought after of all stock Toyota 4X4's so I don't know that I'd go that route.

Bought one in April for $800.

Fella I bought her from said "She has had a bit of a hard life".

I said "She ain't seen nothing yet."

Young man I know was game on doing some fabrication for me...

Front bumper mounts (dual Reese females horizontal and vertical) and the middle one at 45 degrees for a Gin pole.

The dual Reese females (horizontal and vertical) will be for removable stuff (tow rig, work table/hood protector, secondary bull bar/winch, cooler rack etc.)

Basic intent is a 100% offroad WV mountain rig... winch will be on the roof in a "male" Reese hitch mount (Gin pole use and to right her when she rolls on her side).

Male Reese hitch points will be stakes on the flatbed... basically pick points in any direction and flexibility on Gin pole location...

More pictures as the work progresses...

Re: A medicine for melancholy - 12/05/19 03:07 PM

Dusty - we get it, you're anti-gun, anti-American, anti-freedom. You're here not because you are trading guns, but because you have alienated everyone else and this site lets you stick around (which reflects poorly on them). You intentionally insult members of this forum that I know are better people than you could ever hope to be.

You are rude, you don't bring anything helpful to this site, and you are a troll.

So, go kick rocks.

Go shake your fists at the clouds.

Go keep a close watch on your lawn.

But just go, your village misses you.
