CRITICAL RACE THEORY - 10/11/21 04:09 PM
If you have children or grandchildren in the public school system you should watch this.
I would put it in Lue Jones' Communism thread but it would get lost.

Discussing the absurdity of CRT is opening a door.
EXACTLY like adding a "P" to LGBTQ... making it LGBTQP.
The LGBTQ community is ABSOLUTELY DISCUSSING adding Pedophiles to their club but saying "It is just not the right time YET"...
BUT have no doubt that it is being discussed and will be coming to your world VERY SOON!

None of those articles you linked say that CRT is part of the curriculum. I don’t know why you thought they would support your point.

Re: CRITICAL RACE THEORY - 11/01/21 07:49 PM
This CRT hoopla is completely made up.
They prove this to be a false statement!
Critical Race Theory itself is not taught in VA K-12 public schools at this time. However, in many higher education universities its being force feed.
Virginia K-12 teachers are being indoctrinated and encouraged to teach some subjects through a “Critical Race Theory lens,” bringing aspects of the more complex CRT into use in classrooms.
And, yes those links prove that.

Re: CRITICAL RACE THEORY - 11/22/21 06:35 PM
Virginia 4-H has gone woke and is attempting to corrupt your children.
The 4-H Teen Summit will be focused on social justice issues like LGBTQ+ rights, mental health, racial justice, the environment, education, food insecurity, and much more. The goal around the summit is to create a safe space for youth to talk about advocacy and issues that impact them, and how to create change in their communities. Because we know the topic social justice, equity and inclusion can be confusing, we are sharing with you our definition of each that we use as part of these efforts to make 4-H for all.
Social Justice: The act of distributing power, resources, opportunity, societal benefits, an d protections that are Equitable for all members of society.
Equity: When a person or group receive the unique opportunities and resources needed that reduce or eliminate the barriers
Inclusion: Move beyond simply having diversity in a space and toward creating an equitable environment where the richness of ideas, backgrounds, and perspectives are harnessed. Inclusion is the act of creating a space where each person is automatically valued, respected and supported.

Re: CRITICAL RACE THEORY - 11/22/21 06:42 PM
That was from an email invite from 4-H regarding an up coming summit.
My reply:
Thanks for the invite.
However, no one from our house hold will be attending, nor will we attend any events with similar agendas.
As a muliti racial/ethnic/cultural family we find this subject inaccurate, offense and belittling.
If Virginia 4H is going to head down this path this will be the last year we will be involved.
Respectfully,
Marco

Are ALL 4h going to this? I was involved with 4 Rivers 4H for about 9 years. When VA Tech took over, it started to change and parents had gotten to be pains and I hung up my instructor hat. Sorry to hear this. Donnie

I have no clue if it's all or some. The teen summit is for all VA 4-H.
The above came from State 4-H, and State extension Development coordinator not the local extension office.

Dear School Choice fighters,
An excellent bill has been introduced by Delegate Phillip Scott! Now we need your help to make sure political shenanigans don't get in the way of bringing School Choice to Virginia.
HB 982 creates an Educational Savings Account program and expands the Education Improvement Scholarships Tax Credits so that every family in Virginia has full and universal School Choice.
Delegate Wren Williams, another School Choice Champion, has signed on as a co-patron of the HB 982, and Speaker Todd Gilbert has referred the bill to the Committee on Education.
Now the work begins!
Call the Committee Chairman, Glenn Davis, and tell him to support HB 982 - The Virginia Educational Freedom Act. You can reach his office at (804) 698-1084.
Email the Committee Members and tell them to support the bill. Click HERE to send an email to all the committee members right now!
Remind the other School Choice Champions who signed the Educational Freedom Pledge that they need to support Delegate Phillip Scott by signing on as co-patrons of his bill--HB 982:
Marie March (R-7): DelMMarch@house.virginia.gov
Bill Wiley (R-29): DelBWiley@house.virginia.gov
Nick Freitas (R-30): DelNFreitas@house.virginia.gov
Margaret Ransone (R-99): DelMRansone@house.virginia.gov
Show your support for Delegate Phillip Scott by attending his swearing-in ceremony on Sunday, January 23rd in Richmond. Be sure to RSVP if you plan to attend! If you can't make it to thank him in person, be sure to send him an email at DelPScott@house.virginia.gov!
Register by February 5th for Early Bird prices!
Natassia Grover
Director
Virginia for Educational Freedom
"The idea of school choice is spreading like wildfire around the country, because it's the one education reform that puts real choices and real opportunities in the hands of families who desperately need them."
~ Justice Clint Bolick, Arizona Supreme Court
PS- If you support liberty, parental rights and making sure each and every student has the choice of the education they receive, click here to sign our petition to pass School Choice.
PPS- They are our kids, it is our money, and it must be our choice. To compel us to pay for a school system that pushes values we oppose is tyranny. This is why it is vital that you ask every single candidate running for office in Virginia whether or not they support FULL School Choice. Not some watered down, compromised half measure. If they do not, they simply support the continued use of your money to indoctrinate children. It is that simple.

Re: CRITICAL RACE THEORY - 04/24/22 06:33 PM
Working with the House and Senate, Governor Youngkin has kept these promises by signing the following bills into law:
SB 656: Will require schools to notify parents when a school assignment includes sexually explicit content and will allow parents to review it and request an alternative assignment. A summary article is here. (A similar bill was previously vetoed by Governor McAuliffe, who later remarked in debate "I don't think parents should be telling schools what they should teach.")
HB 4: Will require schools to report crimes like sexual battery and stalking to law enforcement. This law will reverse the worst parts of a bill that was passed over Republican objections in 2020 when Democrats were in the majority.
HB741: This was my (Del. R. Bell) school safety bill, and will require each school to prepare a detailed floor plan for use by responders in the event of an emergency

You watch too much television.
They are certainly teaching race based concepts derived from CRT in public schools.
