Firewood supplier around Old Forge, NY - 03/15/16 07:08 PM

Looking for some info about decently priced firewood for a week long camping trip in the Old Forge, NY area. The campsite that we are going to has it for sale, but I hear it is overpriced and tends to be damp. Wood has to be local (50 miles or less) or certified kiln dried. If you have any ideas about it, shout it here.

That was my plan, and I know that folks have boxes at the end of their driveways along the way up with bundles and a donation box. I can probably fit a facecord into my little econobox, in a trip or two, but that seems like a whole lot of wood to burn in a week. Leftovers will go to neighboring campers.

I grew up in North Utica and had a camp on Otter lake a little south Old Forge. Spent most of my childhood summers up there.

If you're still looking let me know and I'll check with kin still in the area if they have anybody.
