VAGT Challenge Coin? - 03/30/13 06:43 PM

Whenever I was in a unit that had one, the thing to make sure you had on your person at all times was the units challenge coin. Im sure we have some artistic types that could design one. How many people would buy one?

Im in.

Proceeds to VAGT of course

Re: VAGT Challenge Coin? - 04/14/13 07:01 AM

I'd be up for one myself. I have maybe umm.....over 1000 laugh I used work for several generals, Command Sergeants Major and when I was a govie, I worked for the Secretary of the Army. I traveled a lot even as a young Soldier, I was in a rapid deployment unit and always got coins. (I started young) laugh

There's a fantastic, locally and woman owned, small business in VA Beach area called Bree's Corporate Imaging. Bree is a very nice woman. I used to design the coin for one of the generals I drove for and had a contract with Brees.

Anyway, I'm definitely up for it! Put me on the list, as well!

Re: VAGT Challenge Coin? - 05/10/13 02:11 PM

Thanks for the compliments.
Plain brass stamped or cast is about $4 per coin incluing shipping. I don't have $400 laying around to pay for the coins hoping to recoup the money. If someone wants the detailed artwork I will be happy to give it to them, free of charge, so they can order the coins. Send me a PM and an email address and I will send you the artwork.

I'm pretty sure this is where I got the quote for the coins I am ordering for my lodge.

Re: VAGT Challenge Coin? - 09/13/13 09:55 PM

I am working on the challenge coin above.
The site owner thought there should be a gun on the coin.
I don't want this to turn into an argument between the Glock owners, the 1911 owners and the AR owners.
1) Should there be a gun on the coin?
2) If so, what kind of gun should be on the coin?
3) What other changes would you like to be made to the coin?
I can't draw so I would have to find a suitable picture on the net to make changes. I am willing to work with you on the coin as long as someone else wants to put down the money to order the coins. I'm retired and don't have $400-$500 laying around, hoping to get my money back with the sales.
You should be able to get 100 coins for between $400 and $500, which means you would have to get between $8 and $10 each in order for the site to make any money. If you want colors added it will cost more, so it's all up to you guys what you want.
If someone wants to set up a poll on how you want to coin done go for it.

Re: VAGT Challenge Coin? - 09/14/13 08:00 AM

I'll take a couple!
I have seen poker chips that are much cheaper to get into, and very detailed although not as durable. They are printed and you can even have your favorite saying printed on the edge. Going to need to research sourcing, but they are around 30 cents each, so it would be much cheaper to order the first 100 to test the waters.
any interest?

I think having an AK and an AR crossed in an X would look sweet.

kinda like this without the flag perhaps...

Standard practice suggests that the VAGT logo should be on one side of the coin.

Re: VAGT Challenge Coin? - 09/21/14 01:41 PM

Those would not be challenge coins, challenge coins are histolricly made, presented by and presented too active duty military ever since the Roman Empire (Or WW1/WW2, whatever story you want to believe.) Most honorable/seasoned military people don't take kindly too stuff like that, disrespects military history.
