Ammo Load Opinion - 04/15/15 09:11 PM
Below are 2 pictures of spent cases from 2 loads of ammo that I did. One load (R-P Cases) is 4.4gr of Greendot under a Berry's 124gr RN 9mm with CCI Small Pistol Primers and an OAL of 1.15 which is in line with the recipe that I found for this load. the Winchester cases are 4.4gr of Greendot of under a Berry's 124gr RN 9mm with CCI Small Pistol Primer and an OAL of 1.125. Both were shot out of the same gun, does anyone see any signs of over pressure that should cause concern? Also the Winchester cases will still fit int the case gauge with out any issue.
Any have any thoughts?
Loaded over a million rounds of 9mm and those look pretty standard to me

Just two cents, the notion of primers indicating that rounds are a safe pressure seems dubious to me. I could see how they might indicate gross overpressure, but nothing other than that. The same primers are used for cartridges that range from like a 17,000 psi limit to a 38,000 psi limit. How could the same primer provide valid feedback on both of those?

Same pressure in different volume case or different bullet weight or both can change the outcome. That's why primers are a good indicatir
