Run of the mill AR15 plinking ammo, what does it average per round to load your own?

For me, buying all 3 components in bulk.
Hornady 55 gr .07
CCI SR Primer .028
Powder CFE223 .087
Total 18.5 cents per round, excluding labor.

Great recap...

Slight trim on those numbers can be had... BUT NOT MUCH.

S&B primers on sale are $0.02... rarely do any better than that.

Pills can be a penny or two cheaper, but not Hornady. Plated maybe $0.05... pulls maybe $0.06.

He is under a penny on powder... little to trim there.

I don't reload .223 for that reason.

16 t0 20 cents each depending on purpose but i get a lot more control over the final product.
powder and pills can be weighed and matched exact or near exact. burs can be removed for accuracy etc.
the final product is as good as the time and parts you put into it.
