338 lapua

hey does anybody have a load for a 338 lapua that they use?
ive been looking at buying a 338 but have had 2 deals fall through now

have a 700p in .338 I'm looking to part with. if you are still looking for a rifle.

What are you looking to do with the rifle? I load everything from 225 grain Hornady's to 300 gr. scenar from Lapua...big range.

For just playing around, the Hornady 225 grain is cheap and pretty accurate up to 400 yards. Cheap practice.

What range, rifling and reason are you looking to fulfill?

Preferably. I want to be able to take it out to 800 for targets. Hunting large game such as elk would be it's other use. I have a 7mm mag for pretty much everything smaller than it

my 308 goes out to 1200 for targets. I have taken Elk with a 300 winmag at 800 yards you just need a 220 gr and a well placed shot. a 7mm mag will do elk out to 600 confidently with the right load

alright funny thing is i have all of those caliers haha. currently running 160 stbt speers through the 7mm and hits like a charmon paper.

Seanrash6, understood I just want you to be aware that you don't need one of the big flat 338 or 50bmg for the objectives you listed above.

now if you want to shoot the 338 because it is fun fast flat and have a place to go 1200 yds and beyond then go for it. Let me know what club it is or if it is privately owned I would love the opportunity to join ya and see if I can get my 300 out that far.

what kind of loads do you run for 308 300 wm and 7mm

my 308 is 168 gr amax with 40.3 of hogdon 4895.
my 300 is a 200 gr sierra bthp with 62 gr of h4350
