Finally got around to putting together my own setup- gonna be loading .243, 6.5 CM and .308 to begin with. So, who's got reloading recipes? Specifically looking for those involving copper monolithic bullets a la TSX, TTSX, E Tip or GMX in any of the above. If anyone wants to school me on powder charges, COALs, length off the lands, velocities etc, shoot me a PM! Thanks a ton for any input.

Buy a new reloading manual. It will be your best friend.

Books are our friend, read and re-read the opening sections before the load data. A mentor would be helpful.

Most all powder manufactures provide basic load guides online.

Avoid at all possible falling into the internet load traps of fad loads.

The end goal is to tailer the loads to your guns to meet a performance or accuracy to meet your requirements

Been working my way through it and have now identified loads for two rifles that meet my needs, which are MOA or less systemic accuracy using copper monolithics. Biggest surprise I've had is how much different reloading manuals differ- for example, Hornady recommends 43 grains of RL 17 as a max for 130 grain rounds in 6.5 CM, while Barnes goes up only to 40.8. Different projectiles with different amounts of bearing surface, to be sure, but surprising. Thanks for all the input.

Get yourself the latest version of Quick Loads and spend enough time with it to be comfortable with its predictions. It does a great job with the calibers you want to load. It will definitely save you a lot of time developing pet loads for your guns.

For TSX, Barnes publishes some data here Barnes. . As you progress through reloading, you will find variations in load data (as you found out) among resources. Also, visit the powder manufacturers’ sites as they also contain powder specific reloading data.
