No, I'm not talking about Bow, Muzzleloader or the General Firearm Deer Season.
I'm referring to the annual Youth and Apprentice season our state offers for Deer this coming Saturday and Sunday.
This is a great way to get a young boy or girl out into the woods and teach them the ways we as hunters have been albe to enjoy over the years in the great outdoors and the resources our great state has to offer.
Just remember to keep it simple and fun, take plenty of snacks and think of games to play while in the field or woods. If hunting out of a laddr stand please check it over from the ground before climbing up in.
Everyone needs to wear the required safety orange (hunters and guides) so everyone stays safe.
Take lots of pictures as these kids grow up fast, and just enjoy your days in the field.
We have around 12 youth hunters for this Saturdays Hunt in King William County, so we will start the day off with a group breakfast and then pack snack for the morning hunt, mid day we will have a fishing derby in the pond at the club before getting ready for the evening hunt.
Hopefully we will have a little luck and then enjoy hamburgers and hotdog fresh off the grill with the hopes of fresh tenderloin chunks wrapped in bacon.
Good Luck Everyone and please take a kid out if you can, these memories will last a life time as mine have over the year.
Special thanks to Union Sportsmen Alliance, Buck Knifes and GreenTop HuntFish for their help making this a great weekend for our youth.
Remember to post pictures if your lucky or even if your not.
