H&R Arms M1 Garand Post War February 1954 CMP
CMP H&R Arms M1 Garand, USGI M1 Garand

CMP Rack Grade (.30-06) M1 Garand.
Used, CMP H&R Arms Serial Number 4721476 manufactured February 1954" This rifle was received from CMP as a Rack Grade in very poor condition. The barrel was a rusty sewer pipe and the muzzle gauge dropped all the way in. The barrel was replaced with a like new 30-06 24 inch SA 9/63 barrel and properly head spaced. The bore has good bright finish and the throat and muzzle measures 1+ the crown is in excellent condition. The stock and handguards were replaced with a Boyd’s walnut stock kit. The stock was sanded and prepped and three coats of hand rubbed tung oil were applied. New USGI metal parts kit was installed New USGI Spring Kit was also installed all other parts with original finish as delivered by CMP. The Receiver has light pitting above and below the wood line but nothing deep like we have been seeing on CMP rack grades coming out recently.
