REGISTRATION Registration is $45 per person. Choose your division, register for the event and securely pay online right here. No, you cannot register to shoot multiple times, guns, or divisions. There is no PCC division for Origin 2-Gun. Walk-on shooters are permitted if there is space. Bring cash with you and register with the match director when you arrive at the range safety briefing.
REFUNDS If you withdraw 7 days before the competition you will be refunded minus your credit card fees. If you withdraw after that point, you will not be refunded
ATTENDING THE EVENT Everyone must sign the Origin Shooting waiver & agrees to be bound by these rules Obey the 10 MPH speed limit on the facility. The Origin Shooting bays are 300 yards straight ahead. Parking is available on the right Everyone will attend the 9am Safety Briefing & new shooters will identify themselves Minimum age for competitors is 12. Minors MUST be accompanied by a parent Eye and Ear protection will be worn at all times by everyone on the range DO NOT bring a loaded gun to the Safety Briefing. Empty gun means empty chamber, empty magwell, pistols remain holstered, rifles remain bagged or flagged
GUNS, GEAR & EQUIPMENT Firearms must be safe and serviceable to use in this event Holsters must be worn on the belt. No Crossdraw, Chest, Ankle, or Shoulder holsters Normal pistol calibers are allowed (.380, 9mm, 40sw, 45acp, etc) Unusual pistol calibers are not allowed (.22LR, 5.7x28mm, .50AE) Normal rifle calibers are allowed (5.56x45mm, 7.62x39mm, 7.62x51). M855 and other steel core or “green tip” ammunition is prohibited
COURSES OF FIRE Shooters will have 5 minutes to read the stage brief before the first shooter It’s your responsibility to reset targets when you are not the next shooter It’s your responsibility to be ready and waiting when you are the next shooter Your course of fire officially starts when you are told to “Load & Make Ready” “Load & Make Ready” means load and holster your gun, check all your gear “Are You Ready?” is the Range Officer confirming that you are ready begin “Standby” is the Range Officer informing you they are about to start the timer ***BEEP*** is the audible sound of the timer to begin your course of fire “Are You Done?” is the Range Officer asking if you are finished shooting “Unload and Show Clear” means unload and show the Range Officer an empty gun “Hammer Down and Holster” means dry fire in a safe direction then holster Your course of fire is officially over once you holster your empty pistol “STOP!” means freeze, finger off the trigger, keep the gun pointed downrange
DIVISIONS are based on your RIFLE configuration Open - Any caliber 5.56mm or larger, with any amount of optics Scoped - 5.56mm rifle with one (1) magnified optic Irons - 5.56mm rifle with one (1) non-magnified optic Heavy - 7.62mm rifle with any one (1) optic
Whatever pistol modifications you have are fine. Pistol magazine length is restricted to 140mm. Holsters must secure your pistol during vigorous movement.
COLORS WHITE designates targets that ARE meant to be shot BLACK designates targets that are NOT meant to be shot YELLOW designates equipment that is NOT meant to be shot BLUE designates starting plate for movers that ARE meant to be shot first
SCORING Results will be posted to Practiscore after each event Raw time + Penalties + Procedurals = Stage time All 4 stage times added together = Match score Cardboard targets require 2 hits each. +10 seconds per miss There is no calibration for steel targets. Range Officer can call hit if witnessed Failure to knock down falling steel is +10 seconds per target Failure to hit hanging steel is +10 seconds per target Failure to spin the spinner is +60 seconds per target Hitting a no-shoot target is +10 seconds per hit on target Failure to hit targets at 50 yards and beyond are +30 seconds per target Shooting outside the designated area is +10 seconds per shot fired Disobeying the written stage briefing is +10 seconds per shot fired Shooting range equipment is +60 seconds per hit (see DAMAGE below) Coaching before or after a course of fire is fine. Coaching during a course of fire is +60 seconds for both shooters (example: Long range shot call corrections)
DAMAGE Shooting the range equipment (painted Yellow) is $20 per hit because our range equipment is custom made and we need it to last a long time The Match Director will review each situation to determine fault, if it is not the shooter’s fault because of bad range design there will be no charge
RE-SHOOTS Re-shoots will be granted for range malfunctions Re-shoots will not be granted for shooter malfunctions
DISQUALIFICATIONS These are Match DQ’s not Stage DQ’s which means if you are disqualified then you are finished shooting for the day The Match Director will review all DQ’s, Match Director decisions are final, there are no appeals and there are no refunds Unintentional, Negligent or Accidental discharge of your firearm at any time during the event is a DQ Having a loaded gun at any time during the event is a DQ, unless you are the shooter executing a course of fire Gun handling at any time during the event is a DQ, unless you are the shooter executing a course of fire or working at a safe table Dropping a gun during your course of fire is a DQ. If you drop a gun before or after your course of fire then get a Range Officer to assist with recovery Breaking the 180 degree barrier, Muzzling any part of yourself, Muzzling anyone else during your course of fire is a DQ Finger on the trigger while Reloading, Clearing a malfunction, or while Moving and not actively shooting at targets during your course of fire is a DQ Knocking a staged gun off a table, Ditching a loaded gun with the safety off, Walking across a staged gun’s muzzle is a DQ
UNSPORTSMANLIKE Unsportsmanlike conduct will get you banned Cheating, altering scores, “fixing” targets will get you banned Being disrespectful to range officers, shooters, spectators will get you banned
EVERYTHING ELSE Anything not covered in these rules will be determined by the Match Director
