With some of the legislation coming with the incoming administration; I would like to formally start a group to establish a gun club that will acquire property or lease property to shoot. If anyone is interested, we can set up meeting at one of the local libraries. They have conference rooms that can be reserved.

I would like to discuss this with people who are not only interested, but are willing to assist with time, resources (funds, ground clearing, etc). We could structure the club based upon potentially shares of ownership, which would make it semi-private and avoid the crazy incoming rules about only "registered" firearms at gun ranges. That is one of the crazy ones that I have heard.

Anyway, I have a few years before I retire and move on, but would like to enjoy my remaining time here.

So to expand upon my initial message; I am not looking for other members to completely fund the gun club. I have funds to buy a few acres of land and have my own private oasis of sorts; however, I know that pooling resources would allow for a larger acquisition and also provide for a "community" project that fills a hole here in NOVA. The lack of a decent outdoor range.

A group effort to clear the land, etc would help control overall costs. I am sure that there are members that would contribute by bringing equipment and expertise to the effort.

Organizing as a "Trust", "S-Corp" or "LLC" would prevent one person taking over or screwing the group at large. Also prevents one person from being completely responsible or on the hook for maintaining the club's status.

Is there no one else even interested in discussing it? If that is the case, I guess it was worth a try.
