This particular pistol is one of the few guns carried by the fighter pilots of the Finnish Air Force's Lentolaivue (LLV) 32. LLV 32 was a squadron that flew Fokker D.XXIs, the American-designed Curtiss Hawk P36 (called Model 75 for the export version), as well as a few British Hawker Hurricanes.

This pistol is one of only 42 guns issued to the squadron in February 1940, and Air Force guns generally account for only a small minority of the 2500 guns purchased by the Finns - a few hundred at most. Just a few years after the war, only 1300 remained. So this is a rare chance to pick up not just an Air Force gun, but one used by the fighter pilots as their emergency sidearm in case of being shot down.
