There will be an IHMSA Small Bore Match this Sunday the 22nd of Sep.
We will have two more matches to finish out the year:

Oct 13 Big-bore & Half-scale
Oct 27 Small-bore, Field Pistol & 1/5th Scale

Small Bore consists of 22lr handguns knocking over steel targets at distances of 25,50,75 and 100 meters.

Big Bore is most any caliber handgun that you wish. Knocking down steel targets at distances of 50, 100, 150 and 200 meters. Velocities must be kept below 2400 FPS to prevent target damage.

The IHMSA organization started in 1976 with the purpose of promoting handgun silhouette competition. The object of the competition is to knock down metallic silhouettes (chickens, pigs, turkeys and rams) at various ranges to a maximum of 200 meters. The sport has spread to many countries and matches are shot all over the USA. Many of the innovations you see in handgunning today came from the sport of Pistol Silhouettes and the International Handgun Metallic Silhouette Assoc.

Its Simple and exciting!

Hit a steel target and knock it over.

You will find silhouette shooters helpful and friendly and more than willing to go out of their way to assist you. The game is actually very simple and you probably already own a handgun that qualifies for competition. It will make you the absolute best pistol shot you can be!

There matches are held at Piedmont Sportsman Club on Cox Mill Road in Gordonsville.
Come on out to see if this is something that you would want to do. You do not have to be a member of PSC to participate in the IHMSA shoots or to come watch.
Matches generally start at 9am.
