This Vintage 80s Kershaw KAI Seki Japan Hattori Model 1007 Trooper Dagger is in very good, clean condition overall but shows mild traces of age, handling and storage.

Both sides of the blade's ricasso are clearly marked "kershaw by kai japan," and "TROOPER" on the reverse. The blade edge is clean and strongly appears to be original from the factory however several light scratches in the polished finish can be noticed. These blemishes appear to be from the metal belt hook of the scabbard rubbing against the blade while in storage as no other signs of past active usage are detectable. The crossguard is also clearly marked "SER. NO. 5406." This serial number, as well as the inclusion of a fuller on the blade, would appear to suggest production occurred sometime after 1980 by Hattori in Seki, Japan. The wooden grip handle is clean and displays a rich, dark wood grain. No damage from abuse or neglect can be noticed and all metal fittings are securely attached. The original brown leather belt sheath is in good condition as well but expected signs of age and storage are present. The original presentation box is also included in the sale as well as the protective cardboard sleeve. All hardware is clean and functions as you would expect, the blue padded interior is also clean and free from any signs of neglect. This Kershaw Trooper would make a fine addition to any advanced vintage Japanese knife collection and would be difficult to upgrade. $450 OBO
