After 30 years of exploring many types of hand guns, rifles and shotguns I have recently decided that I really enjoy revolvers, specifically. 327 Fed mag(32 long, & H&R mag.) And even more so .38/357mag.
I recently thinned my collection of unwanted/underused or lesser quality firearms to start to build up a higher quality shooter collection. If I can't shoot it, I can't own it. No safe queens for me.
I added to my collection after this newly found direction with a brand new S&W model 27, 6.5 barrel and I Couldn't be happier. So I decided I next would add a 686/586. Was looking for a 4" 6rd. And after searching and finding nothing I decided I would settle for a 686 plus 4" or a 3" plus deluxe that I had found during my search, both brand new. After looking at the 4" and noticing the very poor polishing on barrel specifically (one side wasnt even finished all the way) I choose the Deluxe 3" plus. Finish wasn't bad and I did like the wood grips.
Excited to test it out after getting home I did a quick check out of the revolver and noticed an unusual line along the inside frame running from the cylinder lock all the way up the frame to the barrel. This brand new unfired S&W has a cracked frame. Taking it back tomorrow. Sent pictures to dealer and he agreed it was definitely a crack. So disappointed. I thought S&W was top of the line!
