Watched the President speak yesterday... https://youtu.be/G6HbxcCb-7g

And reminded of a story I knew years ago:

Henry Ford and Intelligence

During the world war, a Chicago newspaper published certain editorials in which, among other statements, Henry Ford was called “an ignorant pacifist”. Mr. Ford objected to the statements, and brought a suit against the paper for libelling him. When the suit was tried in the Courts, the attorneys for the paper pleaded justification, and placed Mr. Ford himself, on the witness stand, for the purpose of proving to the jury that he was ignorant. The attorneys asked Mr. Ford a great variety of questions, all of them intended to prove, by his own evidence, that while he might possess considerable specialised knowledge pertaining to the manufacture of automobiles, he was, in the main, ignorant.

Mr. Ford was asked questions such as the following:

“Who was Benedict Arnold?” and “How many soldiers did the British send over to America to put down the Rebellion of 1776?”. Soon it became apparent to the court that Mr Ford didn’t know the answer to many of the questions.

Finally, Mr. Ford became tired of this line of questioning and in reply to a particularly offensive question, he leaned over, pointed his finger at the lawyer who had asked the question, and said, “If I should really WANT to answer the foolish question you have just asked, or any of the other questions you have been asking me, let me remind you that I have a row of electric push-buttons on my desk, and by pushing the right button, I can summon to my aid men who can answer ANY question I desire to ask concerning the business to which I am devoting most of my efforts. Now, will you kindly tell me, WHY I should clutter up my mind with general knowledge, for the purpose of being able to answer questions, when I have men around me who can supply any knowledge I require?”

There certainly was good logic to that reply. That answer floored the lawyer. Every person in the courtroom realized it was the answer, not of an ignorant man, but of a man of education. Any man is educated who knows where to get knowledge when he needs it, and how to organize that knowledge into definite plans of action…

The problem with that example and explanation is that "The Donald" has professed from his own mouth that he, himself, is the smartest, or most intelligent, person he knows. He does not take advice of others that know more than he does about a subject because he knows it all. With what comes out of his mouth re knowing more than the generals about war and more about everything than anybody else, he demonstrates his ignorance. IF he could keep his mouth shut and fingers off twitter he might appear to be more intelligent than he is actually. Trump demonstrates consistently that "it is better to remain quiet and be thought a fool than open your mouth and prove it". The ONLY thing Trump has in his favor is the platform of the R Party of pro-2A. Otherwise Trump is an idiot and demonstrates it with his mouth consistently.

The example is an irrelevant comparison, nor justification, of Trump's ignorance based on his own actions.

Whose advice should he be taking exactly? A man who has gotten THAT MUCH done in his first few years in office is either a genius, and therefor takes no advice like you claim, or he actually DOES listen to the individuals that he surrounds himself with. I’m inclined to believe the latter. Sure, he might tweet excessively in regards to Little Mike, but has that truly gotten in the way of performing his duties? Personally, I like the fact that Trump has a Macgreggor-like mindset. I don’t want a cowering, apologetic president like we had with Barry. Trump might not be THE most intelligent human being out there, but make no mistake, he is no dummy, and he has proven that time and time again. I would love to see someone else try to go head to head with mainstream media on a daily basis and still come out on top in most situations. It absolutely floors me how many people clearly live under a rock. Imagine how much MORE he would have been able to accomplish if not for the unjustifiable, media bias.

You are right in one sense, no one has gone bankrupt as many times and come back on someone else's nickel.

Once upon a time the body parts were arguing about who should be boss. The brain said 'I should be boss, I come up with the ideas.' The legs said, 'no, we should be boss because without us the body doesn't go anywhere.' The eyes said that they provide the information so it should be them. The hands made their case as well. Then the lowly rectum said that it would like to be boss. The other body parts roared with laughter and mocked and mocked. So, the rectum quit working... the eyes got blurry, the legs too weak, the brain quit coming up with ideas. Soon the other parts acquiesced and gave the job of boss to the rectum...

Just remember that it doesn't take a brain to be boss, just an **VOTE IN NOVEMBER**.

and Obama can buy a 200 million dollar house on this salary? It's all rigged.

Step away from the politics and answer the questions honestly. Where did he get 200 million dollars from?

When we bought our land in West Virginia at closing I had a chat with the attorney. He asked our politics and I asked about the politics of West Virginia.

He told me West Virginia was ENTREMELY CONSERVATIVE DEMOCRATE.

I asked him what the f*** that meant.

He laughed, and said I guess you're not stupid.

With an estimated net worth of $40 million, I am not sure where the money for a $200 million house would come from, but I have also not seen that number anywhere else. I have seen less than $8 million for a home in DC, and about $12 million for a vacation spot on Martha's Vineyard. Together both of those homes approach $20 million but nothing approaching $200 million. Would love to see pictures of what $200,000,000.00 buys you in a house though.

Business Insider Said in 2017 that over the next 15 years that the Obamas could probably earn over $200 million. Seems that owning homes that equate to 10% of what you could make in a 15 year period, while extravagant, isn't too far out of the norm. I'd say that the amount of money that I would make over 15 years puts me closer to having 25% of what I could make invested into property. Curious to see what that number would be for others. Not saying that things aren't rigged. The rich do tend to get richer, compared to those with less money. Having the ability to leverage your net worth, perceived or otherwise can go a long way.

Donald Trump has never declared personal bankruptcy. Trump has sought bankruptcy protection for 4 (6 if you count 2 twice) in over 500 business enterprises.

Business' filing for bankruptcy protection gives time to do 1 of 2 things; come to some sort of agreement with debt holders over terms of current and new debt, or to prepare for liquidation.
We are about to see a whole lot of bankruptcy protection filings by the way...it isn't always because of poorly run bbusiness, more often than not it's because of economic change.
