I dunno, they also said they need an approved form 1 for it to be engraved, or else the would have to destroy it if the form came back rejected, which is nonsense according to everything I read. So I chose to not drop my stuff off there. I ended up engraving it myself and was fine with how it turned out. I also spoke with Aaron at http://lazerengravingpros.com/, they are in the RVA area, he said he is waiting on some kind of FFL form to come back and is supposed to email me when it does.

they done my SBR & yes I left a copy of form1, I was also told not to get it engraved before I had a form 1 approved, so I don't know about nonsense, I am sure it was fair warning to you about the laws he has to follow being a FFL, I have had TTI do a number of things for me as well as bought a few things from Rick, always left happy

I am not talking about construction of the gun, literally just engraving my trust name, city and state on a stripped lower while the form 1 was in process. There are companies who will engrave your lower before even shipping it out, and I'm pretty sure putting my info on a gun doesn't subject it to nfa registration requirements. I was just going by john pierces recommendation. No worries either way, any ffl has to do whatever they feel is correct, it is their license and livelihood after all.

just got mine back from them, they did a great job, i did however give them the stamp when i dropped it off. i know another ffl sot that said the same thing and that you DID Not have to have the form approved before hand.

Just to set the record straight, I don't like taking in NFA engraving jobs unless there is an approved Form 1 prior to doing the work. I have had a customer bring one in for engraving that was supposed to be approved shortly. I wasn't going to engrave it until it was approved and in the end, he was declined.

There is no reason why you cannot have the engraving done even if it isn't on the NFA registry if it is part of your Trust property to show it is Trust property. I just don't want to engrave one that is supposed to be on the NFA Registry prior to engraving...personal and shop preference.
