Had a great interaction today. Good guy to deal with, I feel like I got the better end of the trade, but he was good with it. He was very easy to deal with, and even followed through when I had to postpone due to family health issues.

A very shrewed trader. In connection with a gun-trade there was also a trade of ammo, my 50 rounds of Winchester target ammo, 50 rounds of Fed. HST, in .38spc., in exchange for two boxes of .30-06. He offered me a little tupperware box w/what I considered junk ammo, obviously reloaded, which I said he could keep (that was not part of the express deal, btw), because I don't trust other people's reloads and don't want 'em. One of the two boxes to be traded was 240 gr., which I don't use, and I told him he could keep that, as well. So I got one box of apparently unopened Remington "Core-Lokt" in 165 gr., which I do use. Opened the box this morning and found they weren't just reloads, but rather badly handled - the brass appears to have been used and re-used, bent up and stuff. There was nothing fraudulent about it, but I felt that having been offered boxes in exchange for boxes (my stuff was all factory-new, by the way), I felt that there was an element of intentional deception, given that I had just told him that I didn't use other peoples' reloads before he offered me those boxes.
I'll be taking that box of reloads to the Sheriff's office for disposal as junk. Learned an expensive lesson, I reckon, and I won't be trading ammo anymore. I'm disappointed because I've always felt that the "gun-buddies" were more trustworthy than other folks and wouldn't play tricks like that. I'll have to be more cagey. "Caveat emptor" applies from now on.

Did a mail deal with John. Even with snail mail it took less than one week to complete. Very smooth transaction. Would not hesitate to do another. Thanks.
