Took my new KS-47 to the range today for a zero and some barrel break-in (shoot two shot... clean... repeat)... zero the scope yada yada

Glass was a cheap Cabelas 2-7. Thunderbeast PSS can. Cheap Bear blammo.

Nothing to write home about, but finished with some mag dump rapid fire.

Top 10 shots before scope final adjustments and the bottom 20 or 30 after scope adjustment.

Very rapid fire. This will kill a bear.

I'll shoot for accuracy next time.

Range report recap... "a VERY SHOOTABLE .30 cal"

Zero hickups (except the foregrip worked loose a little bit... easy repair).

Target is only 50 yards... RSOs kinda don't like rapid fire at 100 yards... regardless of whether you are hitting the target or not... so 50 yards it is.

Nice Leonard, I can't wait to get my finished and out to the range. Did you have any issues with the feed ramps digging into the cases, and it does it look like your gas port was opened enough?

Charles.

She fed without flaw on both PMags (20 round) and steel (30 round).

Two rules on ARs and AKs...

1) Treat them like a $5 hooker (NEVER baby them or talk nice).

2) Run them wet (I like 0W-20 oil (Mobil 1))... ARs more so than AKs, but oil is your friend (especially during break-in).

With proper ammo I would guess this gun will shoot 3" at 300 yards (based on some of the slow fire break-in shots).

Is it a complete KS47 from PSA or did you build an upper from a different company? Strongly considering going this route as well.

PSA ran a special a weak or two ago... bought both the upper and lower... Was around $450 OTD after EBates and P/U fees from Quantico Tactical (aka Proven Arms) etc.

Hard to build your own for that money.

For $480 it seems like a reasonable alternative to a WASR etc. (which appear to be substantially more expensive as of late).

Just and FYI... PSA has an 8% rebate from Ebates... plus an extra $10 for joining thru this link... Link to Join BeFrugal [quote

Stupid ak markups are like that everywhere unfortunately. 450 isn't bad at all. Thanks for the info Cash as well as your range report. I look forward to seeing what I can come up with comparatively.

It is very accurate and kicks less than an ak. I have a holosun 403 cowitness folding cheap trinity force iorns and stark afg.I have used 3 surplus Romainian 30's, Chinese drum, and pmags no issues feeding at all.

Ringing 400 yard steel (2 MOA plate) pretty consistently yesterday. Brown Bear ammo and the $20 Cabelas scope...

Tried some 500, but not so good.

250 yards was easy peasy.

With better glass 500 yards I believe would have been very possible.

YES, it is... Chris and Tycen are shipping off two .30-06s for reboring this week... and maybe even Austin.

285 Gr. ammo you were shooting

Handloads with 232s and 250 are crazy fast

Depends on how my 06 barrel shoots with a tuner, if it doesn't shoot like I want I certainly will.
