I decided the truck coat was too shiny, so I hit it with camo flat black. Then the drunk shoutbox got me. I started talking about maybe doing some camo on it and gobroncos said "tiger stripe". Down the rabbit hole I went. It's not perfect but I'm overall pleased with the way it turned out. I got stencils from a place called Freedom Stencils online. Couple things I learned along the way. I should have used a plastic specific rattle can as the base on the stocks, some of the paint peeled all the way down when I pulled the stencils but only on the stocks, not on the metal. Should have used an exacto knife more when peeling and sticking the stencils, some had trouble staying stuck I'm guessing cause I touched them too much with my fingers. If you order from Freedom Stencils, pay attention to whether you're ordering the rifle or pistol pack. I accidentally ordered the pistol pack, so I was a little slack on coverage. I didn't do the full 4 colors like true tiger stripe but I liked the colors I had. Rifle together with all the bits taped off.

Gonna let it ride and see how it holds up this season. I'm estimating the rifle will be at least 28.5% more accurate now.
If anybody has done something similar and has any tips, tricks, suggestions, lessons learned, etc., please post them here. I'm always happy to learn, even if it is the hard way.
If you have any home camo pics you want to share, feel free. Always like pics and camo is my favorite color.

Looks good pea wee , you might as well have removed the scope because after removing the barrel from the stock you should redial it back in and make sure she’s good , I hate to see you miss the hammer this season lol .

Simple break action rifle, never had any issue after taking it apart before. It's gonna get shot again anyway, trying out some different boolitz. Looks like a right successful adventure down the rabbit hole! Pretty nifty outcome and a learning experience too. That extra 28.5% accuracy should come in handy as well. Nice work sir! Thank you, it was a good time. Looks better than plain old black and bound to be tougher than the blue that was on it.

Dude that's awesome. I did a much less advanced version of this on my Wolf just to replace the solid black profile of the plastic stock. Also had issues with the traditional Krylon adhering to the stock. We'll see how it holds up this season.

I'd love to see pics if you'll share, I always enjoy seeing what other folks do and learning from what they did. Funny thing though, I was looking through a storage cabinet that had some spray cans in it and I have some primer paint that's supposed to bond with plastic, just forgot it was there.

Dang dude sorry, totally just saw this. Here's mine. The Krylon holds up what I'd call "acceptably." I got one of the textured, kinda sandy-feeling colors as a base coat, which turned out to be a little lighter than I anticipated. The forest green brought things in pretty well. Nowhere near as pretty a job as yours, but she gets the job done! I actually used my $150 Wolf over a T/C Encore 209 this year to take that guy because the Wolf had been such a hammer at the range I couldn't logically justify taking anything else. They are hilariously capable rifles.

Haha, thanks for the follow up. I actually saw it in the deer thread though. I think it looks good.

Haha, thanks for the follow up. I actually saw it in the deer thread though. I think it looks good. Totally forgot I even posted it there. My big takeaways from muzzleloader camo attempt #1 were: -Use a primer coat that bonds to Krylon -Use the standard colors instead of the granular textured stuff I tried -Stencils definitely have sharper and more professional-looking lines, but the rounded edges from the oak leaves I used actually turned out to look pretty decent I think. A better picture:

Bringing back the old gold.
The rattle can has held up well. Minor chipping where the barrel gets propped against the truck tailgate, but that is an easy repair.
