Humor aside, I cannot stop laughing at the posts for stock/ used glocks on offer for 700 dollars.

Are people really that desperate to buy? Are we ok supporting the inflation?

I see the same pistols available, NEW, OEM, in the original box, for regular 500-600 readily available by simple internet search.

Please support your fellow gun owners and sportsmen, especially in this time of politicking.

Haha. Its entertaining. I used to believe that biting and selling firearms at premium for non ffl was an acceptable practice for those who did so. I thought it was probably a smart practice for both parties involved. Now with our Moron Governor and his merry mens new laws its just plain stupid.

Exactly. You can pay a premium for privacy , but for what are you overpaying in current peer to peer transactions?

Thats just the stink of a burning California. I just see the ripoff as stupidity/ ignorance. I am not a socialist, or communist, I also believe that pure capitalism is very individualist, and is destructive. When you have a few people who control a vast majority of public wealth, who fail to circulate that wealth, it directly impedes economic growth and devalues our currency (as we print more). There is a reason we have Anti trust laws.

Sadly, these days, massive super companies like CVS can purchase, control, and stockpile 60% of our national supply of Flu Vaccine (real statistic) and the Government wont say boo.

That's almost exactly the same rhetoric ANTIFA uses, as well as other red groups, when they talk about toppling the "system". I can see your point about the few companies having control over nearly everything, but that's just how it is now. And if you've got insurance, usually the vaccine is free anyway from CVS lol. I don't care that they are stockpiling the vaccine for flu, if in fact they are. I may change my mind if you provide a link for me to read that isn't a tinfoil hat website. Seriously, not trying to doxx you, I'd actually like to read it and see why it's bad for a company like CVS to stockpile things like that. Seems like a good idea to me

A lot of new/first time buyers are creating much of the demand. In addition, some sellers and buyers have not realized that the desired anonymity is no long available if you go through an FFL. Don’t buy at gouge/high prices...look around and you will find some at reasonable prices. As for ammo, keep an eye on the dealer sites (Midwayusa, Ammoland, etc.) for sales as they do offer ammo a little lower priced than the panic prices.

Issue 1: to buy my stuff you must value my stuff more than i do. The more you want my stuff, the more i want my stuff because nature. A gun in the hand is worth more than 2 in the mail on the way to ffl.

Issue 2: there is no practice of capitalism with justice which necessarily go together, were it so, it would be the perfect system. What we have is an oligarchy with the political class and corporations. Your 60% example, how many outlets does CVS have? How how many people go to CVS for shots? If 60% of the population go to CVS or somewhere CVS owns, operates or controls they better damn well have 60% or they are going to upset some customers.

Don't state half stories with selected numbers as facts. They are partial truths which we all know is lying by omission.

To Issue 1, I agree with your assessment of personal valuation, I simply wanted it to be said that these are higher then (currently available) prices.

As to issue 2, if they have 60% of the market, they indeed should be able to fufill that market, my issue that we have reached a point where a single company can own 60% of the market and purchase the largest insurance processor.

My point is that Monopoly is considered a bad word.

Lol, my first reaction was not to bother responding to you due to comparison to Antifa. My Source is confidential, and very good. My issue with stockpiling is that it has caused a massive market shortage for most other suppliers. Call your local chain pharmacy, or local drs office.

60% is not a monopoly. A monopoly is something wherein competition is prevented. If had the rights to 100% of all flu vaccines, they would have a monopoly If they prevent other places that aren't CVS to sell the vaccine. If the company that makes the flu vaccine is the only company that makes the vaccine, they may or may not be a monopoly. Depends on if they can enforce the ability to prevent competition.

What you are describing is called a 'horizontal monopoly'. That is somethinh incredibly frowned upon; think rockefeller.

What CVS is in the process of is 'vertical monopolization' it is when instead of expanding to include all pharmacies, you ecpand to control the biggest insurance companies, and health companies. Sort of like a giant Kaiser.

Infact, the Justice Department only narrowly ruled to allow a Aetna/CVS merger, the principle requirement beinh that Aetna divest its medicare holdings.

Guess who has the most new medicare holdings today.

Its not a complete domination, as Walmart, kroger, and walgreens still exist, but many mom and pop pharmacies are ginding themselves crushed by the giants. Primarily due to an ability to control pricing.

If CVS can own the distributor who marks up the medication, can limit who can bill to its insurance companies, and affect copay coverage, they can effectively starve out the little guys, and even some od the big guys. (Think Riteaid)

I get that we are all Capitalism-Gung-Ho, but we do not live in a free capitslist state. The government does in part control the market, only problem being who controls the government.

Its all a clusterf*ck.

I try to live by the Golden rule.

It's not just Glocks either. Dude just offered me a stock Hellcat (not optics ready) plus $150 for both my FN 509 MRD and Holosun optic and got incredibly offended when I said he was overvaluing his Hellcat :P

The problem is that the people who do this simultaneously want to price gouge and expect you to accept lowball offers :P

Everytime I go to Gander Outdoors I see used guns listed at very reasonable pre-panic prices.

I'm guessing the newbie buyers don't like used guns.

No need to pay inflated prices on here. The site seems pretty dead in general. Easier to order from gunbroker or online stores as you will have to go through an FFL in any case and many FFLs are changing less for standard transfers than they will to do a private sale transfer.

And back then, it was easy to see the flippers. You'd see someone brazen enough to post "I'll take it" then have the same gun relisted a day later for $100 more. One guy even used my own photo after he gave me some sob story about his wife having cancer, and asked me to drop $20. I didn't even get home, and he had it up.
