Today's update doesn't have pictures unfortunately. But I removed all the old wood filler seen in above pictures. Took wood glue and the sawdust from the bag off the sander I used to sand down the stock after paint was removed, and I mixed the sawdust in with the Woodglue. Repacked holes with it. It should hold stain better than the wood filler.

Good stuff.
Is there ever a point that wood stocks can't be repaired?

I'm sure it could get to a point where there's more filler, glue and repair joints than original stock material lmao.

Good stuff.
Is there ever a point that wood stocks can't be repaired? There is indeed a point where a stock should not be repaired and instead replaced. If this was in a caliber larger than a modern rimfire cartridge, it should be replaced, wood glue isn't exactly known for its durability and recoil absorption.

The fact this stock belongs to a .22 saved it from being too far gone. Had this been anything with any punch behind it, I would not be certain it would be safe to shoot.

If the wood glue doesn't make you feel safe... then you need more duck tape or possibly zip ties if it's really bad. That's some nice work to salvage an old beater Squish, hats off to you for the effort. Now electrocute the stock.
