Gun storage while at Lobby Day - you can preregister and prepay now. There will be a truck near the General Assembly Building where you can check your guns on VCDL Lobby Day, Monday, January 16th. Guns may be checked starting around 8am that day and the facility will close at 4pm. (The rally part of Lobby Day will be from 11am to 12pm at the Bell Tower, as VCDL has done historically in the past.) The storage facility will allow you to store your gun, ammunition, and any magazines. The facility will have two armed-security guards to protect the stored firearms. Guns being presented for storage must be unloaded. There will be a sand bucket available outside the facility to give you a safe direction to point your gun while unloading it. You can reload your gun at the same place after retrieving your gun later in the day. There is a $10 fee for storing your firearm. To preregister and prepay for storage of your firearm, click here: https://form.jotform.com/211803450595050The form will request identifying information about you and your gun so that only you can retrieve your checked gun. You will receive a copy of the form to bring with you to show when you check your gun and when you retrieve it. Free hot coffee will be available by the truck, while supplies last. The coffee and the storage arrangements are being made by VCDL member Brandon Howard. Brandon has his own group, Right to Bear Arms Virginia (R2BAVA). Both VCDL and R2BAVA logos will be on the storage facility. The exact location of the facility will be provided as Lobby Day gets closer.

Gun-control bills have been introduced to:
Expand the definition of “assault firearm” to include any handgun or rifle that has a detachable magazine of any capacity and has any of a list of cosmetic features; any semiautomatic rifle with a fixed magazine that holds more than 12 rounds; any semiautomatic shotgun that holds more than 7 rounds of the shortest ammunition it can shoot. Ban all “assault firearms” made after July 1, 2023 Prohibit the sale or transfer of existing “assault firearms” Prohibit “Assault firearms” from being owned or possessed by anyone under 21 Prohibit the carry of “Assault firearms” in public places Prohibit the sale or transfer of existing magazines that hold more than 10 rounds Ban new magazines that hold more than 10 rounds after July 1, 2023. Existing magazines that hold more than 10 rounds must be destroyed, turned over to the Commonwealth, or taken out of state by January 1, 2024 Prohibit the purchase or sale of suppressors after July 1, 2023 Expand the Red Flag law to look back six months into a person’s history, including if they bought any guns or ammo Require guns and ammo to be locked up, unless on your person, if there is someone in your house that is under 18 years old. Guns must be stored unloaded in a locked container and ammo must be stored in a separate locked container, making the guns totally useless. A loaded handgun can only be stored in a biometric safe Disqualify NRA certified firearms instructors from teaching CHP classes, making classes hard to find and expensive Create a mandatory 3-day waiting period on firearm purchases Take away a person’s right to purchase or transport a handgun for 5 years for two misdemeanor convictions of DWI in a 5-year period Make hard body armor illegal for anyone but the government to wear in public Require that firearms must be left in a locked vehicle AND must be locked in a container. Failure to do this is a $500 civil fine AND your car can be towed away Require homemade receivers be serialized, including a chunk of aluminum that could be made into a receiver Create a state-funded gun buy-up program where guns turned in must be destroyed Take away gun-rights for three years for misdemeanor battery on a dating partner Require firearms sold after July 1, 2025 have a microstamping capability. This will mean no guns can be sold after July 1, 2025 since no manufacturer has a gun that microstamps and none are on the horizon
Gun-rights bills introduced so far (more coming):
Constitutional Carry Remove localities’ ability to ban guns in parks, permitted events, and community and recreation centers Removes 30-day wait to purchase a firearm after getting a new driver’s license Allow CHP holders to store guns in their vehicle when parking on private property that is open to the public, regardless of any prohibition of guns on that property Repeal the gun ban for CHP holders carrying in the General Assembly, Capitol, Capitol Square, rest stops, and in state agencies Repeal of ban on carrying a loaded firearm with a magazine that holds more than 20 rounds in certain localities (18.2-287.4) Red Flag law repeal Extend the expiration of CHPs from 5 years to 10 years Switchblades can be concealed, such as in a pocket
There is a provision for temporarily and securely storing your firearm near the General Assembly so you can attend the rally at 11am and go into the General Assembly to Lobby

Virginia Citizens Defense League Defending Your Right to Defend Yourself VCDL’s Firearm Bill Analysis document for the 2023 General Assembly Session (as of January 16, 2023) is ready! If you would like a copy of the document being handed out to legislators on Monday, January 16, 2023, click here: https://vcdl.org/resource/resmgr/pdf/vcdl_gun_bill_analysis_2023.pdf- Bloomberg’s gun-control group had their Lobby Day Friday. Their rally was in the same place that Patrick Henry gave his famous, “Give me liberty or give me death” speech, St. John’s Church. Patrick Henry is surely turning over in his grave that the Moms Demand Tyranny held that event there. One of our members in attendance counted around 125 people in the Demanding Moms shirts. A newspaper article said there were 250. Based on the photo sent to me, I’m going with the 125. No matter how many of them showed up, WE need to show up in large numbers. https://augustafreepress.com/news/moms-d...of-communities/- Reminder: Pre-Lobby Day Dinner TONIGHT, Sunday, January 15, in Richmond from 5pm to 7pm: WHERE: Hibachi Sushi and Supreme Buffet Westland Shopping Center 8087 West Broad Street Henrico, VA 23294

Yesterday, Speaker Todd Gilbert posted on his Facebook page that he is not supporting any bills that the radical anti-gunners will not support.
Then he went on to criticize us for pushing so hard to even have a vote on Red Flag Gun Confiscation.
Straight up admitting that unless the gun grabbers support Red Flag Repeal, he is not even allowing a vote on it exposes the so-called 'leadership in Richmond.'
But yet, come November, they will run around the Commonwealth begging for your votes, hoping you will forget them bowing down once again to the far left.
But we will not forget. Just like when ex- Delegate Tim Hugo (R) sponsored Red Flag Gun Confiscation, we will never forget their actions, or lack thereof.
Notice I said ex-Delegate.
If you support the full and complete repeal of Biden's favorite gun grabbing scheme, I am asking personally that you get in the fight right now.
It is vital that you call Speaker Gilbert at 804-698-1015 and tell him he must stop taking his marching orders from the anti-gun nuts. And that he must put the full weight of his office behind supporting HB1394, the full and complete repeal of Red Flag Gun Grabs.
,If you are reading our emails for the first time, as a background, House Bill 1394, introduced by Delegate Marie March, completely repeals Red Flag Gun Confiscation.
And 'republican leadership' will not even allow HB1394 to go to a committee, much less a vote.
We have begun to roll out phone calls to gun owners in Virginia, and we are going to double down on those efforts. All to create the pressure needed to force Speaker Gilbert to actually fulfill campaign promises to roll back the Northam/Biden anti-gun agenda in Virginia

Fellow Virginia Patriots,
The second week of the short 30 day session has passed, and the Repeal of Red Flag, HB1394, and Constitutional Carry, HB1393, are still sitting on Speaker Todd Gilbert's (R-15) desk.
As Speaker, Gilbert decides which bills move and which bills sit on his desk and die without even a vote.
And apparently, that is exactly what he is doing on both 2nd Amendment bills.
And without your help pushing Gilbert to act, we will be stuck with the exact same anti-gun agenda he and his cronies promised to repeal.
Sources inside the Capitol have told me exactly why this is, and how deep the Richmond Swamp runs.
Last year, due to your phone calls and emails, the Repeal of Red Flag was finally allowed to come up for a vote, and it quickly passed the House of Delegates.
So why is it different this year?
Simple. with our current Governor planning to announce his bid for President, the Richmond Swamp is leaning on Gilbert to kill any and all strong Pro-2nd Amendment legislation.
Remember Youngkin ran as a moderate, all while tossing the voters sound bites on everything from the 2nd Amendment, to School Choice to Pro-life issues. In fact, he has done nothing on those issues except small, tinker-around-the-edges tweaks. All so he can use Virginia to launch his presidential campaign and appeal to Far-Left voters by leaving all of Northam's tyrannical schemes in place.
And you and I pay the price.
And here at the Virginia Constitutional Conservatives, we are not going to let the Richmond Swamp get away with it. But we need your help. I can type all day long, exposing the actions of the Richmond RINOS, but unless you answer our calls for action, Virginia will still suffer under Northam's schemes. This is why it is vital that you act today and-
Call Speaker Todd Gilbert at 804-698-1015 and tell him you know about his swampy schemes and that he must allow both the Repeal of Red Flag, HB1394 and Constitutional Carry, HB1393, a vote! Tell him you know both bills are sitting on his desk and he alone is standing in the way of a vote on both! Next, you need to call the Governor's Mansion at 804-786-2211 and demand that Governor Youngkin honor his campaign promises and support the 2nd Amendment by demanding Gilbert allow a vote on both House Bill 1393 and House Bill 1394. And if Youngkin does not, because of his campaign lies, you will work against his presidential ambitions. And finally, because Primary Elections count far more than General Elections, you need to join us on February 11th in Spotsylvania and join our team so that we can rip the Richmond RINOS from power.
