Hi, I just found out that my wife and I will be moving to the Norfolk area in July and just wanted to get some general advice. Places to look/ avoid for renting, good restaurants/ breweries, gun shops with reloading supplies in the area, gun ranges, sporting clays courses. If you have any suggestions let me know. Thank you!

Stay away from Ron Hess guns, about everyone else local is okay, reloading is scarce since Mac from Macs reloading passed away, NAS Oceania is 1 of the few clay ranges, Park Lane is some good eats, New Realm brewery has a nice beer garden, but not cheap.

Thanks for the info, I will definitely check out Park lane and New Realm! I know it can be pretty hit or miss, but is there any area that you would recommend avoiding when looking for places to rent? (Traffic to Norfolk Naval Base and generally not a great area to be in) I'm hoping to spend a few days in the area before signing a lease, but would like to narrow down where to look before getting there.

Ocean Lakes and Redwing in Virginia Beach aren't bad, Hickory or Deep Creek in Chesapeake if you want more country, if you have children keep in mind where you live is where they go to school.
Norfolk is too expensive or ratchet for me.
