The Extar EP9 Carbine brings pistol-caliber versatility to a true rifle-length platform while weighing barely five pounds. Built on glass-fiber-reinforced polymer upper and lower receivers, it combines AR-15-style controls with a dynamic-mass blowback system that softens recoil and keeps follow-up shots quick. A nitrided, 16.25-inch threaded barrel and full-length Picatinny rail give you easy suppressor and optic options, and the carbine runs on widely available Glock 9 mm double-stack magazines—nine 33-rounders and one 18-rounder are included.

At just 5 lb 2 oz, the EP9 is among the lightest 9 mm carbines on the market. The weight savings come from its glass-fiber-reinforced polymer receivers and 8-inch polymer handguard, yet the design still accepts standard AR-15 triggers, safeties, grips, and stocks.

Extar’s dynamic-mass bolt uses a spring-loaded counter-weight to moderate felt recoil. Combined with a patented last-round bolt-hold-open that works independently of the magazine follower, the system keeps the gun controllable and stops the bolt reliably on empty.

The nitrided, thin-profile 6.50-inch barrel is threaded 1/2-28 TPI out of the box for suppressors or muzzle devices. A continuous Picatinny rail runs from receiver to handguard, simplifying the mounting of optics, backup irons, lights, or lasers.

Left-side charging gives you quick, intuitive manipulation while clearing the top rail for optics. The six-position collapsible stock adjusts from 31.25 to 35 inches overall length, letting you tailor fit and giving the carbine easy handling in tight spaces.
