BREAKING:

VCDL/GOA major win in Court! UBCs struck down!

Late yesterday afternoon, the Circuit Court in Lynchburg sided with VCDL and GOA and struck down Virginia’s Universal Background Check law! We have been fighting this since 2020!

The law will remain in place until the judge signs an order, which could take a week or two. Our attorneys are writing the order and will have it ready ASAP.

As soon as we learn that the law has been officially blocked, a VA-ALERT will be issued. At that time private sales can begin without the purchaser having to go through a background check.

VCDL and GOA still have four other lawsuits working their way through the courts

Update, assistant attourney general yesterday said that the proposed order VCDL sent ISNT correct so from my understandings the UBC for All people will not be signed, they created a new one reguarding the permanent injunction for HANDGUNS only to people 18-20. Someone correct me if I’m wrong

BREAKING NEWS! On 10/29/2025 Universal Background Checks have now been officially enjoined! The order drafted by our attorneys has been signed by Circuit Court Judge Yates.

It is now legal for private gun sales to proceed without needing to get a background check done by a dealer, just as it was before July 1, 2020!

Many thanks to Gun Owners of America for covering half the cost of this lawsuit, which was first initiated back in 2020. They have been a great partner in this, and other cases still pending here in Virginia!

Attorney General Miyares tried to greatly restrict this win by creating his own order for the judge to sign, but the judge rejected Miyares’s efforts. Yes, Miyares is better than Jones, but that isn’t saying much.

Congratulations, Virginia!

(These lawsuits are very expensive – over $20,000 just to walk in the door. If you would like to help offset that expense, you can donate to VCDL or the VCDF by clicking on their links. Thank you for your consideration!)

Now challenge the on FRT's and having to register for Suppressors. Suppressors should be an accessory to a firearm, the same as a scope or a muzzle brake. Glad to see my contributions making a difference.

All it takes for the ambiguous VA FRT law to be tested in the courts is for someone to step up and be the initial “defendant”. How about you?
