Up for consideration is an M1A SOCOM 16. A 16" 308 platform that can run with more classic lines or modern amenities. Comes with a very functional brake on the end. She won't be quite but will certainly help tame a 16" 308.
Pictured with the classic stock, I also have a Delta 14 chassis that it drops right into for more modern ergonomics. The chassis uses a mesa tactical Mossberg 500 stock interface so this one accepts standard AR buffer tubes/stocks but it can also be swapped for something like the Magpul SGA also. You can see lots of options on their site for what you can do with it. Not the EBR by any means, but lighter and simpler for sure. Only a couple hundred rounds though it.
