This is the nicest 1911 I've fired. Trigger might be less than 2lbs. The fit of the slide is perfect and moves like butter. Amazing shape, trigger was not weighed but is so light you'll double tap without good control. This was presented to a retiring now passed officer. The was the first year of the 80's series Colt. The Colt Series 70 was produced from 1970 to 1983, while the Series 80 was introduced in 1983 and is still in production today. The main difference is the addition of a trigger-actuated firing pin safety in the Series 80, which was added for safety reasons. Colt also made other modifications, such as the collet barrel bushing in the Series 70 which was replaced with a solid bushing in the Series 80.

The owner had this properly converted back to a 70 series and is buttery smooth. Come with tactical grips as well as bone/ivory grips with raised swords. The white bone grips are probably about 300-400 themselves. $1250
