This Civil War Era 1850s Austrian Model 1849 Kammerbushe "Garibaldi" Conversion Rifle is in good condition overall but shows expected evidence of age, storage and "restoration."

Several stamps can be noted on the barrel and what appears to be an "854" stamp can be observed on the lock plate. This would suggest 1854 production. There is a faint indentation near the rear of the plate where the Austrian Eagle stamp is usually found, this could be a remnant of this stamp. Several series of numbers can be noted on most of the small parts (mostly "99" and "7")as well as the barrel. A combination "Star" or "Sun" "99" stamp is found on many of these parts as well as other numbers. The finish on the barrel appears to be untouched however pitting is present near the hammer. The finish on the hammer and the lock plate appears to have been cleaned and the patina has been lost. The brass hardware has not been polished and shows nice patina consistent with age and handling. The barrel bore still displays noticeable rifling however expected rust and pitting are detectable. The wooden stock appears to be original but no stamps can be easily found. The stock appears to have been cleaned / sanded at some point in the past but retains a rich, clean finish. The cleaning rod is clean, unmarked and strongly appears to be original to the rifle. $850 OBO
